There I lay in the hospital bed barely alive, barely breathing. The nurse came in to check on me every five minutes or so.
"Are you awake yet," the nurse would ask,
"Yes, I think," was always my response.
Then, I stopped hearing the beating of the heart monitor. The doctors and nurses ran in and put a face mask over my face to help me breathe. My lungs had filled with water and they had to put a tube inside me to suck the fluids out. I don't know what happened in that car crash but it had to have been bad. I over heard the doctors talking about my condition.
"She is one of the very rare 21 year olds to have a heart attack, I think she is the first ever to have one while driving" said the tallest of the doctors
"How long do you think im going to have to stay here," I interrupted. They didn't suspect that I was awake, let alone listening.
"I don't know probably a couple more days," said the oldest looking doctor. "Have been working as a doctor for 67 years and I have never seen anything like this happen."
I didn't say anything for the rest of the time they were in there. A nurse brought me some food, oh how I hated hospital food. They always brought me some sort of meat, this time its ham, a vegetable, which was mashed potatos, a drink, I had wanted a Diet Coke but they brought me sprite instead, and a dessert, which was a piece of chocolate cake with peanutbutter flavored frosting and chocolate drizzled over top. I'm not much of a sweets person so I ate about three bites of it then I was done.
Suddenly, the lights went out and everything was dark. The backup generators weren't working, they wouldnt turn on. Then, I heard footsteps, the same footsteps I heard in the house the day before. At first they were a soft whisper and they grew louder with every step, until they were so close it sounded like thunder to my ears. Then, they stopped. I looked out the door and saw a dark figure standing there, the same glowing eyes as when the were in the house. Then, they multiplied...
Not The End.......
