Due to the current complex system which has gone on for a few decades, boys and girls who turned 18 will receive a message directly from the government itself to determine who will you marry in the future.
It is said that anyone besides their assigned partner is forbidden as it will only hurt the other in the process. Basically, they think that if you love anyone that isn't supposed to be whom you will marry is described as an affair or a fling.
You will also be known as a cheater in the eyes of others. Someone who is in a committed relationship and breaks the trust of his or her partner by getting involved with another partner even though both of you never wanted to be together in the first place.
But what can you do? It's the law anyway and because its a law, you can't break it unless you are willing to sacrifice yourself for the one you love.
Usually, these arranged marriages are made so that the child's intelligence will match with others. They will assign someone who is dumb with a genius and a genius with the dumb one so their child would bear a higher average intelligence.
The oldies think of these marriages as The Red String Thread of Fate which also referred to as Red Thread of Marriage. according to this belief, god ties an invisible red core...
If you don't know it's basically a red thread which is why they call it as the red thread of fate, around the finger of those that are destined to meet one another in a certain situation as they are "their true love".
The two people connected by the red thread are destined lovers, regardless of place, time, or circumstances. This magical cord may stretch or tangle, but will never break. This myth is similar to the Western concept of soulmate or a destined partner.
Not everyone agrees to this system and one of them is this one girl, who wasn't all that outstanding, maybe just an ordinary student in her school. She is in love with another girl and obviously, she thinks this system is stupid as you can't be with the one you love.
Psychologists say a crush only lasts for 4 months. But when feelings last longer, you are considered to be "in love". I guess her crush wasn't just a crush after all. Maybe she's really deeply in love with the latter.
