the plane ride lasted about 3 and a half hours, my patience quickly deteriorated when the small child behind me began kicking my seat repeatedly. but as soon as the flight kicked into high gear, the little shit fell right to sleep. the flight descended and about forty three thousand little shits began crying because of the ear popping effect. as the flight attendants began dismissing rows i waited anxiously for our row to be called. finally after what had seemed like forever our row was called, and we exited the plane with over flowing joy.

as we exited the tunnel, erin's face lit up like a Christmas tree. erin is my little sister, her hobbies include: reading and lots of computer gaming. all she ever thinks about is gaming, but now that i see her face like this i know that there is hope for her. we roamed around the airport looking for the baggage claim. my dad lead the family on this expedition to find baggage claim, although we only checked one bag that bag was necessary for us to sustain life while at the cabin. together we found the baggage claim and waited for a long time for the stupid bag, i now find it funny how much that bag meant to me and surviving this trip.

while we waited for the bag erin and sat on the floor as my mom found a chair, erin pulled out her ipad, while i pondered the history of the cabin. the ownership of the cabin dates all the way back to my great-grandfather, who passed it down to my grandfather and so on and so forth. but i distinctly remember the large sloped roof in the middle and two smaller ones to the sides, and then the second floor was part of the sloped roof having a window in the center that fans out to the whole second floor. i would hope that me and erin get the loft, and my parents crash in the bedroom.

"okay are we ready to roll?" asked my dad when we finally found the black roller bag.

"couldn't have said it better myself!" cried erin as she shoved her ipad into her bag.

"alright everyone let's find the shuttle bus and get to the car rental,"

the shuttle was driven by a elderly man who seemed like he enjoyed bringing people to their destination. as we boarded he flashed a smile with a few absent teeth,

"welcome to the dumb dumb bus, because we eat dumb dumbs," he handed us some lollipops. i got cotton candy, which was my favorite flavor. the bus was a bumpy one, with constant movement on the bus. after the ride we were dropped off at the rental place.

the first thing i had noticed was the weather was quite a bit warmer than the city of course. a couple palm trees here and there, and a lights breeze that made my long dirty blonde hair fly and circle around me. then i noticed erin's hand waving in front of my face

"hello, hello? earth to delia!" she said.

"okay guys what car do you want?" dad asked looking at a pamphlet

"ooh how about a ferrari!" shouted erin

"alright alright calm down, we can get a mini cooper though," me and erin began chanting

"mini cooper! mini cooper! mini cooper!" and shaking our fists in the air.

"mini cooper it is, ohh and it looks like there is a baby blue one in the lot," my mom pointed to a beautiful mini cooper in the lot outside the window.

"if you guys really want it why not, right?" he grabbed the keys from the receptionist and we almost charged outside to claim our car for the summer. but instead, realizing that we were in public, calmly strolled out of the car rental office.

Erin and i were ahead of my mom and dad, speed walking to keep up with us. while me and erin stared into the windows my parents opened the hatchback and started loading the bags into the back. obviously we compromised space for style, but i don't really think any of us noticed or therefore cared.

once we were all piled into the baby blue mini cooper, we embarked on our journey for the next three months. for the 45 minute drive we all played 20 questions, mom had mickey mouse, i did marshmallows, dad had a garage door and erin had minecraft. so at least that helped my nerves calm down. we arrived at the cabin and everything changed.
