Chapter 5: The First Date (2/3)

They sat down at the stone bench which gazed over the glistening pond in that autumn. The street lights flickering as though aiding the souls of the lost and forgotten. Letten silently hummed the tune of an unknown song. Letten's voice whisking around Isaacs ears like those of angels. They talked of the things that made the other smile.

Isaac confined his love to Letten, in which Letten teared up. The sincerity in Letten's voice, telling Isaac he was afraid. Isaac's hand on Letten's cheek, he wanted to kiss him, but something told him not to. It was a battle between Isaac's desires and his knowledge of the idea. The moment escaped his grasp, like sand falling between one's fingertips, and like that it was gone. Letten then confessed things. Things no one else knows about his past. It was a confession about past love, passed loss, and present fears. Isaac pondered silently. How long has he been hiding this from the world? How sad must have Letten felt for all those years?

Letten stands up from the bench as Isaac watches him stare at the crescent moon. Letten's beauty seemed to encompass Isaac's dreams. And though Isaac had longed to feel Letten's lips against his, he knew the time was not right. Not quite yet. Isaac got up from the bench to comfort Letten. Letten felt Isaac's arms wrap around him like a blanket. It was a feeling he hadn't felt in so many years. Comfort. Letten's tear couldn't be held in anymore as they slowly ran down his face. The black dress Letten wore glimmered in the reflection of the lake. Isaac's hug was all that was needed to show him that it was not his fault for what happened. Isaac loosens his grip around Letten's waist, while Letten grabbed hold of Isaacs hand. Letten's and Isaac's fingers connected meticulously as though perfectly intact with one another.

It was getting pretty late, and slowly they walked to their date's destination. This is what is known as a perfect start to a first date.
