If you asked someone what the future looked like, how would they respond? Some people would be doubtful that the future could be anything but dark, while others were filled with hope for what it will bring. The answer can change depending on the time of day, what outfit the person is wearing, who they talked too, or even if they had a good dream or not. There are many answers to be given to this simple question.
The thing is, there is no answer.
Some people will grow, mature, and live fulfilling lives, while others will die before they have a chance. There will be people who will become great heros, while others will become villians who will shake the world with their ideas.
Thats the beauty of time. Its different for everyone while always staying the same. It moves in one direction, but there are many paths that you can take. All will end the same.
Death.

"Oi Deku, what the fuck are you doing?!"
Izuku snapped his head up from its place on the desk and was quickly met with the face of his childhood friend. While Izuku had been lost in thought, it seems that class had ended for the day and everyone had started heading towards the dorms. He blinked one, twice, then he finally processed the question.
"Ah. Nothing Kacchan. Just thinking." He mumbled quietly while he hurried to finish packing his bag. All he got in response was Kacchans signature 'tch' as the blonde walked away.
Izuku couldn't help but heave a small sigh of relief. While Bakugo and him were making steps towards building a proper friendship, he still got slightly nervous whenever Bakugo was within arms length.
Old habits die hard.
He quickly finished packing his items and started his trek to the dorms. They were by no means far, but it always felt like a chore. He tried not to complain though. After all, the dorms were for the safety of the students.
As soon as Izuku reached the building, he rushed towards his room. He felt slightly guilty as he saw Uraraka try to wave him over to the kitchen, but he ignored it. After all, he didn't have time at the moment. There was research that needed to be done.
Plopping his bag beside his desk, he immediately sat down in front of his computer and turned it on. He ignored the other tabs as he went to make a new one. As soon as he did, he couldnt help but wince at the headlines.
'The End Of The Symbol Of Peace?!'
'Heros Failure Ends In All Might's Retirement'
'All Might? More Like Small Might! Breaking Down The Lies Of Number One'Izuku was furious, to say the least. Everyone in the media was making it seem like All Might's fault when in reality, he was the one to make a rescue possible! It wasnt his fault that Kacchan was taken. It was his.
He was right there when Kacchan was taken.
He was within arms reach.
If he hadnt been so reckless fighting Muscular, then he would have been able to save him.It was all his fault.
And the worst part was, Kacchan didnt even blame him! Kacchan blamed himself for what happened. He wasnt even angry at Deku despite what people thought. He didn't think twice about the fact that Deku was right there when it happened, he just thought that he was weak.
that thought alone was enough to make Deku sick.
With a sigh (partly to voice his annoyance, and partly to keep from vomiting), he powered off his computer and plumped onto his bed. he had been planing to look and see if any new heros had emerged, but the headlines of the day had put him in a bad mood.
He had known that this would happen, but he hadnt expected it to last for so long. It had been a month since All Might's retirement. 'I guess theyre putting extra effort into this because he was a top hero.'
Suddenly (be it the fact that he was alone or the fact that he was in a bad mood), he was hit with a strong urge to draw upon his skin. His hands started shaking and his arms and legs were begging for another masterpiece. It had been so long since he had added anything new to his gallery.
Izuku shot up in shock. Ever since he had started training with All Might, he hadn't needed to feel the coolness of his brush along his skin. His arms and legs were always sore and burned, so there was never the need to add any more pain to his already heavy load. He never needed it.
But now, he felt he did.
Izuku ran out of his room quickly and started heading towards Iida's. Iida had, after seeing his scars while changing, found out about his habit and quickly offered to be there if the urge ever arose again. At first, Izuku had thought he was just being nice and ignored his offer. But after knowing Iida for a few months, Izuku realized that he could trust him.
As soon as he reached the door to Iida's room, he started knocking. If you paid attention, you could hear someone falling off of a bed, but Izuku was to panicked to notice. The door opened and it looked like Iida was about to start yelling about the noise, but as soon as Iida saw who it was his face quickly feel into one of concern.
"Midoria? Whats wro-"
He couldnt finish as Izuku quickly pushed himself into the room. If he had been a bit more aware of what he was doing then he wouldnt have been so rude, but he needed help. Iida was one of the only people that could help him at the moment.
As soon as the door closed with the two of them inside, Izuku couldnt hold it back anymore. He started crying. Violent tears forcing themselves out of closed eyes as the boy wailed on the ground. Iida was quick to comfort the boy and sat down beside him, enveloping Izuku in a hug.
No real words were spoken for several minutes as Midoria sobbed into his friends arms and Iida whispered sweet nothings into the air. No questions were asked right then. The only thing that was found there in that room was comfort.
As Izukus tears slowed and he was able to breathe freely, he slowly pulled away from the hug. He grimaced at the wet patch on Iidas shirt and apologized quietly.
"Don't worry about it. A small spot on a shirt is worth helping a friend," Iida responded with a small smile. His tone quickly morphed into something more serious as he looked the smaller boy in the eyes. "Are you okay?"
The question was simple enough, but Izuku found himself struggling to find an answer. The obvious answer was 'no', but he didnt want to worry his friend anymore than he already had. But, unfortunitly, he knew that Iida would be able to see through it as soon as he spoke the words. So, taking a deep breathe, he opened his mouth and answered honestly. "No."
Iida nodded his head and pulled his friend into another hug. He had never been much of a touchy-feely type of person, but he could tell tell that it was needed at the moment. He cared about him.
"What happened...?"
Izuku smiled sadly into his shoulder. He knew that Iida would understand his words, so he quietly responded with the strength he had left.
