How it all began...

I stared at the clock willing the minute hand to move faster, the lesson was far too boring to comprehend. I just stared at the work in front of me. I hate eye-contact so I always have to have one thing that I can look at, that doesn't stare back at me. I knew that I should be listening but I just wanted to go and grab some lunch and chill for an hour. There were 10 minutes left of the lesson, and everyone like me had clearly had enough, for once I could sympathise with the people in my class, I just hate everyone in my year, they are so immature.

I was brought out of my thoughts as something hit the side of the face; I looked down to see a paper aeroplane lying on my desk. I blushed at the sudden attention I felt on me, I looked up to see some of the class giggling with Josh, the class clown. 'Jeez real mature Josh' I thought. For years I had been the subject of attention in the classroom, I was simply the easiest target for the bullies and fake friends alike.

A shadow fell across my desk, and I looked up into the dazzling blue eyes of the man in front of me, only to quickly look down again as fear crept in. Those eyes happened to belong to my history teacher Mr Knowles and he was seriously pissed off, trust me I've seen him reduce men to tears with his shouting. I knew that he was about to lose his temper big time, and I didn't really want to be in the middle of it.

He cast a brief smile at me, and this his eye's suddenly darkened over as he turned in the direction of Josh. "Mr Roscoe, get over here now!" he bellowed, and the majority of the class jumped in their seats along with me, this man seriously intimidated me when he was angry.

Josh's smile was wiped off his face as he cautiously made his way over, aware the Mr Knowles had an object in his hand, and that he was seriously pissed off. We all watched the encounter that would take place before us, right in front of my desk! "Mr Roscoe would you care to explain to me how this paper aeroplane mysteriously appeared on Jemima's desk, cause I have a strong feeling that you're behind this, would you care to enlighten me please? Mr Knowles asked in a scarily calm voice, like the gentle breeze before the storm.

"Well um... sir I was just joking around" replied Josh. I grimaced in my seat, wrong answer Josh! Mr Knowles just picked up the paper aeroplane, and crushed it into a ball, and flung it across the room, along with his pen which clattered around on the floor at the front of the room.

Josh just stared in horror at Mr Knowles, as he walked closer to him. "Mr Roscoe, I don't even want to see another paper aeroplane in my class again, do you hear me!" "Yes sir" Josh stuttered. "And I want you to apologise to Jemima immediately, for being an absolute idiot who distracts other people's education for your own entertainment" Mr Knowles yelled.

I hated the attention that was being placed on me as Josh turned to me and muttered his apology. "It's okay Josh" I responded just wanting to leave the room already. Mr Knowles looked at me from the front of the room his eyes roaming my face, making me shift in my seat uncomfortably. "Miss Jones it is not okay, I will not have idiots in my class who feel that they can just throw objects around the room at people who are trying to learn and receive an education, it just isn't acceptable".

I just looked at him waiting for the lecture to be over, and he looked away yelling at Josh to sit down and shut up. The bell rang interrupting the silence that fell over the class and everyone soon scraped their chairs eager to leave the room, and gossip about Mr Knowles. I couldn't wait to leave either and eagerly joined to crowd piling out of the classroom. I heard my name being shouted from somewhere, but I  ignored it, simply wanting to spend the rest of my life in an isolated cave away from the eyes of the world.
