"jaemin, are you okay?" jeno pulled the boy aside and looked up at him.

the six of them plus their manager, were sitting in their dormitory after the final dinner for NCT Dream. tomorrow would be the day they graduate and move on to their seperate units. They didn't want to leave each other to go to Korea, China or Japan, they wanted to stay together as one group, one unit of seven- six, really. the group watched as jeno pulled jaemin away from the group.

"is everything alright with jaemin, renjun?"

"yeah, he just seemed really upset. He didn't even want to be in the vlive with haechan and I, i'm not sure he's been so upset lately"

"he's been quite under the weather. I just assumed he was sick though, I didn't think he would be sad."

the group of six just sat there trying to see if they could watch the two talking, eager to know what was going on for their member.

jeno looked at jaemin but he kept avoiding his gaze. he kept his head held low and his arms stuck to his arms nervously.

"can I take you upstairs for a moment, jaemin?"
"of c-course."

jeno held jaemin's hand and pulled him up the stairs to their shared bedroom. he pulled the boy into the room and gently closed the door behind them. jeno suddenly pushed jaemin on the door. not in a rude way, but in a way that showed how much he was worried about him.

"jaemin, look at me."

jaemin began to let out soft sniffles and rubbed his hands on his eyes to stop the tears. jeno didn't say anything. all he did was pull the boy into a tight hug and whisper to him lightly, making sure not to overwhelm him with anything.

"it's okay. everything's alright. i'm here nana, tell me whats wrong."

jaemin pulled away slightly and tried to talk.

"i-I j-just want t-to turn b-back time and go b-back to when we were all together. I don't want to be without everyone. i don't want to be without you. when mark left you know how upset everyone was. Imagine what it's like if everyone's gone. renjun's going to china soon and we have no idea where we might go. we'll lose hyuck to 127 again. and how am I supposed to be there for Jisung when he has another breakdown? how will I hold chenle when he's crying because he misses his family? I'm being selfish I know, but still I just want I don't want us to end, jeno."

jeno began to choke up too, he knew exactly where the boy was coming from and wanted to be there for him as much as possible.

"nana. everything will be okay. who knows, our manager said they might make us a permanent unit and we'll get to stay. you're putting too much on yourself, you don't need to look after everyone. you aren't selfish. whatever happens it's us against the world, dream forever, huh?"

"d-dream forever"

jaemin sniffled and pulled jeno into another hug. Jeno was the first to break away.

"it's getting late, okay? go change out of your stage outfit and get comfortable. I'll bring you some hot chocolate and something to eat. Just get comfy and i'll be right back."

as jeno was walking away jaemin's hand pulled him back.

"p-please don't take to l-long."

"I won't"

jeno walked down the stairs and was instantly snapped at by the rest of his members.

"Jeno! What's wrong with Jaemin, is he okay? is he sick? is he upset? should we be worried?"
"what's wrong with hyung!"

"is everything alright jeno?"

"okay, okay. Jaemin is upset and he just needs to calm down and eat something. he's just feeling a bit under the weather with all the stress from graduating so i'm just gonna grab him something to eat and get him to relax."
"aw, you're the best boyfriend."
chenle cooed at jeno, nudging jisung slightly

"we- we aren't dating."

"it's obvious you're in love with him ask him out already you coward!"

jeno listened to the yelling of his member chenle and really thought about it.

am I really in-love with jaemin?

he loved everything about jaemin.

his eyes, nose, lips, voice, hair, personality.

nothing was wrong with jaemin. he had absolutely no flaws whatsoever. he was perfect in Jeno's eyes. he was gorgeous. the way his light hair fell on his forehead. the feeling of his soft hands. to be honest, when jaemin had been in a drama earlier that year he was more than jealous. he practically despised his co-star and refused to talk to her after she tried to ask jeno out after filming their kiss scene.

so yes, he really was in love with jaemin. so in-love that he'd risk his life for him.

he snapped out of his gaze and continued on to bring jaemin his snack.
he took the boy's drink up the stairs and brought him a cookie as well.

"nana? are you still awake? i brought you something."

jaemin sat up and slowly began to sip the hot chocolate given to him by jeno. jeno changed into a sweater and sat right next to him on the bed. he watched the boy finish his snack and switched the lights off. jeno got under the covers with jaemin and loosely wrapped his arm on the latter's waist. he pulled him in close. he pulled his legs over and held his other hand tightly.

"goodnight nana. it'll all be alright in the morning, and whatever happens i'll always be with you."

jaemin snuggled close into jeno and buried his head in the crook of his neck.

"I love you jeno. I love you so much. I never want to leave you."

"you won't leave me. I'll always be next to you. I love you."

jeno placed a long kiss on jaemin's forehead and pushed his hair back. exchanging one last 'i love you' before drifting off into dreamland.

as the two fell asleep through the night they didn't realise a certain someone pulling a few strings and letting them stay together. whoever would have thought that almost being forced out of their group could give you a new boyfriend.
