We've been planning to move for awhile now. My mother finally signed the house over to a lovely couple with two boys probably 7 and 4 years old. I was happy to leave that old house. I had no friends there and was always by myself. I was going to a better school and a community with a lot of kids my mom said , and then we moved.
It was nothing I expected.
I thought there was going to be, I don't know... one of those neighborhoods in the movies when the new girl makes friends with the outcasts or popular kids. Instead I was just, i dont know there I guess ..like nobody really noticed me until I saw... him.
I was walking around my neighborhood with my dog Mater (yes like in the movie cars)in a summer evening when a some what tall boy with evergreen eyes and sienna brown hair comes up to me. He stopped and stared for a while before he spoke with parted lips" Hey uh your the new neighbor up the street.. , right?" I answered right away caught off guard by his handsome looks " yeah that's me we moved in a couple days ago" I felt a little nervous in his presence my face I could feel was a burning red. " What's your name?" The tall boy figure asked " y/n how about you?" He chuckled and looked down to me and said softly " I'm Luke and I live a couple houses down from here... How old are you?" he said as I glanced around to where his house was "oh I'm 10 about to turn 11 how about you?"I spit out " oh I'm 13 I turn 14 this December"...
Right there was when I knew I didn't stand a chance but it was nice knowing him I think to myself.

I turn as my arm jerks from my dog pulling me away towards home I turn around to say " It was nice meeting youuu" he yells back " same hope to see you around" we walked our separate ways to our houses. All I could think about was when's the next time I could see him. I finally get home it has only been a good 5 minutes since I talked to um what's his name ... oH yeah Luke. He seemed really nice.
I tell my mom what happened as I take off my shoes and leash off the dog and she just laughs ."You had this huge goofy smile on your face the whole time you talked about him" my mom told me " that's the first time I've seen you this happy in awhile."she whispers. I looked away with a smaller yet still genuine smile and said to my mom " I think I'm going to head upstairs and get ready for tomorrow okay" She smiled a sweet calm smile and said softly "okay but dinner tonight is a free for all okay" I laughed and headed up to my room.
Now my room wasn't big I'd say it was average. I had a bunch of posters of Marvel Superheroes, my favorite movies and tv shows and then my bed frame was a bright yellow with aqua bed sheets and coral pillow cases. I had a book shelf with few books and a nice white desk with pictures of my favorite kpop idols and colored pencils on it.
I walk into my room and lay on my bed and thought to myself "i can't wait till school starts tomorrow"... i daze off into a deep sleep taking me all through the night to hear my alarm go off at 6:30am. I get up to turn off my alarm when my littlest sister(2yo) Maria comes into my room, rubbing her eyes. She looks at me and back into the hallway dividing our rooms then back at me. She smiles then crawls into my bed and puts the grey blanket over her small body. I do a small chuckle but don't want to wake her up so I grab my towel from my closet doorknob and head to my bathroom down the hall to take a shower. When I get out I put my hair into two braids and put in my small silver stud earrings. I walk back to my room as quickly and quietly as possible and grab my outfit I picked out weeks ago for my first day at this new school. I slide on my navy blue jeans with a Atari short sleeved shirt. After I'm done getting dressed I head downstairs to see my parents sitting at the island in the middle of the kitchen talking and drinking coffee.
They look up at me with small smiles when I enter the kitchen. My mom stands up " You look so cute today I love the outfit your wearing, go get your book bag so I can take pictures of you on your first day!" my mom said enthusiastically, my dad laughs and takes a sip of his black coffee. I do as I'm told and get my burger book bag on and slide on my checkered black and white vans.
We walk outside because it has the best lighting and my mom and dad snap a few pictures on there phone before we go back inside. It's 7:15am and I'm walking to the bus stop with my mom . We get to the end of the street where the stop is and there is a whole group of kids I don't know. I turn around to face my mom letting fear and anxiety take over me, she looks at me and smiles as if nothing is wrong which enlightened me because with that simple smile I knew I was ok and that this year is going to be good.
A few minutes later the big pantone yellow bus came around the corner, and I felt the pit in my stomach begin to grow and all I could think of is what am I going to do...
