Author's pov

“Hello?”

Jungkook almost choked on air. He sat straight on the sofa and mouthed 'Jimin' to Yoongi.

“H-Hello.” He wanted to smack himself. He fucking stammered, on the phone while Yoongi gave him a very unimpressed look.

“I'm speaking to Jeon Jungkook, am I right?”

Jimin spoke in a monotone voice while Jungkook's eyes watered a little, it has been years since he heard Jimin's voice properly.

“How did you...?” He trailed off knowing that Jimin already understood him.

“I'll take that as a yes. I found your number in your files that you left here in a hurry, Mr Jeon.”

He clarified.
Of course, that was the only reason he called. He couldn't have called to say;  "Jungkookie, it's me, your Jiminie. I'm so sorry I left. I love you."

Jungkook mentally scoffed at his secret wish in his mind.

“Right, I'll come to fetch them. Look sorry ab-”

“How about you, Mr Jeon, come to my office and we talk about business a little bit? Would that be okay with you?”

He heard rustling and distant giggling at the back but shrugged it off as he processed the things Jimin just said.

“You can't be serious.”

He stated casually ignoring the pointed look Yoongi gave him.

“I didn't stutter, did I Mr Jeon?”

“No, umm, yeah I'll come by in a few.”

“Very well. I'll be anticipating your visit.”

To say shocked would be an understatement to what Jungkook was feeling, hearing this man's professionalism.

Only when the line on the other phone went dead that he dropped his phone on the couch he was seated on.

“Well?” Yoongi asked impatiently, his face lit up by the bright screen. Jungkook looked at the older male with a surprised look.

“He told me to come by his office to talk about business apparently.”

Yoongi shrugged, “What's so surprising about that?”

Business, hyung, business. Not only I might be able to get this job but I might even know why he's hiding so much from me.” Yoongi sighed and looked at Jungkook, crossing his arms over his chest.

Business may mean nothing, Jungkook-ah. He may not even be Jimin.” Yoongi argued as Jungkook gasped in utter horror and betrayal and then scoffed leaning back into the couch.

“Don't be so pessimistic, hyung. You won't die if you actually be nice for a second.”

“Pft, why the fuck did you come to me then?” He placed his iPad next to him and got up to feed Holly, his dog.

“Aight, imma head out.” He waved bye to Yoongi who didn't even spare him a single glance but made his way out nonetheless.

No matter how pessimistic Yoongi was, he and his other hyungs were good friends and they are the reasons why Jungkook is still alive.
