Definitely a Date

Katakuri said he'd be gone for a few hours and that meant you were alone with nothing to do. The house hadn't had a thorough cleaning in a while, so that became a good option to keep busy. You popped in headphones and got to work, humming and dancing a little as you worked around the house.

You started upstairs, going through the couple rooms there, except Katakuri's. You really wanted to see what his room was like since you'd never been in there before but didn't want to invade his privacy. Plus your mind went straight to the gutter, especially after thinking about how he had you pinned on the couch earlier. You would've been more than happy to go all the way with him then but now you were worried about moving too fast.

Sure you'd been married for over two months now, but you only just started feeling something for each other. Whatever. You'd figure it out when you got there. There was still cleaning to do for now. You weren't sure how much time you spent scrubbing, mopping, and vacuuming every nook and cranny, but you were definitely meticulous. And unfortunately, also oblivious.

Katakuri got back home to you finishing up the living room, vacuuming the carpet while singing to one of your favorite songs. Between the fact that you head headphones still in and the vacuum was loud as hell, you never noticed him come in. He stripped off his jacket and backed up against the door, content with watching you work for a moment.

Your back was to him when you finished, turning the machine off and winding up the cord to put it away. The second you noticed him you jumped and let out a gasp. "Holy hell don't scare me like that!"

"I have a feeling scaring you was unavoidable." He chuckled and removed his scarf, apparently now comfortable with you seeing his scars. "Nice singing by the way. You were way off tune."

"No one was supposed to be listening." You blushed hard. "A-anyway, how'd it go with the family?" Smooth topic change.

"Fine, Mama wanted to go over some business. Speaking of which...." He pulled out his wallet and gave you a card. "I realized you haven't been able to buy anything without me so I had another card made for our account while I was out."

"Our account?" You puzzled over the debit card in your hands. "I don't remember signing up for one with you."

"You didn't, it's technically all under my name but that's were your paychecks are deposited to. It's only fair that you're able to spend your money, we can add you to it later."

"I thought I told Peros he doesn't need to pay me. I literally only wanted something to do." You frowned. Peros found it weird that you weren't interested in a paycheck but you thought he accepted it when you talked to him about it. Most people would probably call you crazy for willingly working for free but you'd never been much of a spender before since everything was always taken care of for you financially.

"Doesn't matter, he legally couldn't hire you without payment."

You huffed, defeated. "Can't argue with that." You pocketed the card, making a mental note to put it in your purse later. "So since you were out with Linlin and Co. I'm guessing you already ate?" It was getting later in the day and food was most definitely on your mind.

"Not this time. I told them I had dinner plans."

"Do you?" Was there other business he had to deal with? Or were his brothers wanting guy time?

"Yeah, with you. I want to take you on a real date this time." Katakuri bent over you and brushed his lips lightly against yours. Your heart felt ready to bear right out your chest. "What do you say?"

"Sure." You said breathily, more than a little proud that you didn't stutter.

He pressed his lips more firmly against yours before pulling away sooner than you liked. "Good, because I already made reservations. I had to pull some strings to get it done so short notice." He smiled at you and straightened out.
