"𝙒𝙃𝙔 𝘿𝙊𝙉'𝙏 𝙒𝙀 𝙂𝙀𝙏 𝙊𝙐𝙏 of here?"
Kaleb perked up an eyebrow at the blonde as she spoke, and she was confused as to why he was questioning her, and then a small chuckle escaped her lips as she finally understood.
"What, so you can have a snack on a certain witch?" The boy joked, taking a sip of his coffee.
The two had been sharing memories and characteristics of themselves ever since they settled down the idea of the blonde being a vampire and the brown headed boy as a witch. Clara felt much more relaxed as the two joked over food, and she felt like she was getting to really know the boy.
"I don't feed on people," Clara retorted, rolling her eyes a bit at the dramatic witch. "Blood bags, sometimes animals, but not people."
"Oh, do I sense a tragic backstory coming along?" The boy rose a eyebrow with a smirk written all over his face.
"It's a long story," the blonde replied, crossing one leg over the over as she leaned more comfortably in her chair.
"I think we might just have time for it, love."
Clara eyes hovered a little bit, and she figured there was nothing wrong with telling him a bit of her history. So, she did.
"I don't feed on humans because the few times that I did, I killed them," Clara explained, lowering her eyes a bit so she wouldn't have to make eye contact with Kaleb. "I flipped my humanity switch because, um, my mom died. My boyfriend's brother, uh, killed her."
"Boyfriend?" Kaleb perked, and suddenly Clara realized her mistake calling Kol her boyfriend, and not ex boyfriend.
"Ex," the girl corrected quickly, nibbling on her bottom lip with nervousness. The last thing she wanted to talk about was Kol, but somehow he ended up the star of her conversation.
"You don't sound so sure," Kaleb narrowed his eyes at the girl, a bit of playfulness in his eyes.
Clara was silent as she tried to think of a snarky response, but nothing was coming to mind, so she was happy to be distracted by a certain witch's voice.
"Hey, Lara!"
The blondes face lightened when she had spotted her favorite witch; excluding her Bennett friend.
"Davina!" Clara smiles proudly, his pink cheeks glowing a bit. Then she looks at the confused blonde boy in front of her, and points towards Davina to introduce her. "This is my friend, Davina."
Davina stuck out her hand politely, and Kaleb hesitantly took in her hand with a gentle shake. The two parted, and an awkward silence came upon them. Awkward because Clara had accidentally called Kol her boyfriend, not ex, but otherwise fine.
"So, what are you doing here?" Clara asked, practically begging the conversation to take off so Kol wouldn't be mentioned again.
"I'm meeting Jake, the boy I was talking to you about earlier," Davina smiled, flashing her perfectly white teeth. Clara was happy the girl could find a nice boy, she had a good feeling about Jake just from how Davina had described him.
