chapter 2

"really? oh okay," briar said was a slight smile. she was trying her best to keep her composure and stay calm. "would you like to come in for a little bit?" fran asked in a polite tone, returning the smile.

briar shook her head a little as she looked at her, "i should probably get home. i forgot that i.. have a thing. yeah. i'm so sorry."

after they said their goodbyes, fran watched briar walk back to her car then get in before closing the door again.

briar decided to do a test like thing on myles to see if he would lie to her or not. it was worth a try at least. she grabbed her phone from her pocket then called him. he answered after a moment and briar could feel her heart thumping louder and faster as she thought of what to say. she then spoke up in a voice as positive as she could make it, "hey baby."

"heyy b," he replied casually before she continued, "where are you? i stopped by your house but no one was home."

"oh yeah.." he paused, "i took king out for ice cream. we'll be back soon if you want to come over later?" "no it's fine. have fun," she said through gritted teeth, ending the call right after.

she couldn't believe what she had just heard. he just straight up lied to her. she started the car then drove as quickly as she could back home.

dear diary,

remember myles erlick, the guy i said was perfect? i was wrong. he's an asshole and i hate him. i've given him everything. i've done so much for him. and this is how he repays me? by cheating? no, i don't think so. i don't know who he thinks he is but he's not getting away with this one easily. he hurt me more than anyone else ever has. and no i'm not being dramatic. he was the one that i trusted more than anyone else in this world and now he's broken that trust. i don't know what to do. i just want to lay in bed and listen to sad music and cry all day. but i can't. i can't, and i won't, let him get to me. i won't let him get me down. i have to stay positive and move on with my life. today was a bad day but there's always tomorrow so everything will be fine. deep breaths and smiles. that's how to get through the day.
it was actually his mom that told me about it. so here's what happened. myles and i were supposed to hang out and have a movie marathon but he cancelled because he had to babysit. and being the great girlfriend i am, i went to his house to help him. but to my surprise it was his mom that answered the door and then went on to tell me that myles wasn't supposed to babysit. and when i asked where he was, she said he had just left to go to jessy's house! jessy that i said he was hanging out with a lot! yes! then when i called and asked him where he was, he had the audacity to lie straight to my face! i can't believe him. i can't believe her. i can't believe i was stupid enough to fall for his games. of course he doesn't want a relationship. he's a guy. a famous one. all he wants to do is make music and fuck girls. i should've known.
