Prologue

She knew she had to choose. Hell, she had known that for years. The back and forth would have to end eventually. It needed to come to an end. She had no choice, she had been pushing it off for months now, now she was forced to choose. It was unfair, but her whole life had been unfair. What did she expect at this point? For it to be fair? For the right answer to stand right in front of her clear as day , shouting to the gods and goddesses and herself, that this is what she wanted? 

This was what she needed.

She wanted both.

She needed both.

She could only have one .'

Warm , tender , passionate. Everything she had dreamed of. He was ready to give her all of him. He knew what she needed. He admired her , he respected her. He knew if they were meant for each other he would end up with her. He was a patient man.

Cold, intense, rough. When it was good it was good. They both know they wanted each other, but if he'd ever give in was another story. Not wanting her , but not wanting to see her with anyone else. Twice he had tried to intervene in her relationships with other men. Possessive and jealous, but free to his own muses.

Just like her. She was free to her own muse. Him-

But she wanted him as a muse just as the last.

Two different kingdoms. Two different destinies. Two different lives. Two different lovers.

Herself, Alana. Artemis, by those who truly knew her.

A simple healer, an advanced advisor. She knew her professional roles. She filled them with pride, exceeded expectations. She proved she was worthy time and time again. She always knew the answer.

Not this time.

This time, she was confused. This time, she had to choose.
