"Hurry up Christie!"

I smiled. I still couldn't believe after all these years me and Delilah were still friends. What else I couldn't believe is that we were still playing tag. "Just you wait I'll win!" I replied with a grin. Delilah ran off happily her long hair flowing behind her. It was the color of hay and always curled at the ends "Thats what you think!" She replied back confidently. I ran after her my steps sounding awfully loud on the wilting leaves. She turned around suddenly and tapped my shoulder with a giggle she spoke "see I told you I'd win". Without waiting for a response she flopped down in the pile of multicolored leaves. "Oh yeah we'll see next time" I responded falling back into the leaves as well. Delilah laughed "Wanna head home? I've got popsicles" She offered with a smile. Her teeth were white and straight. Her big circle glasses pushed up a bit as she scrunched her nose. "Duh!"I watched her jump to her feet muttering Let's go then!"  starting running off. "Hey! Wait up!" I called a grin still plastered on my face. "I just can't wait, you haven't seen my new camera yet! It works so much better than the other and it's got all these fancy functions!" Delilah responded happily. Delilah always loved photography but used to have to take pictures with an old Polaroid camera. She had hundreds of Polaroid photos hung on her wall some dating back to when she was ten. We're both fifteen now. Delilah had told me about her new camera before but I had just forgotten to bring it up. The taller girl slowed down so I could catch up. "So how's you and Brandon going?" I questioned. Brandon was a tall blonde Delilah has had a crush on since first grade. "Oh nothing much has happened but he's still cute as always!" She responded clapping excitedly "My mom shouldn't be home so we got the house to ourselves!" She started leading me through the messy house. Clothes were scattered everywhere and I saw bits and shards of broken glass, mostly tinted red or stained with a dark liquid. At the time I never understood but oh how I wish I did. Delilah had never spoken of her parents so I'd assumed they were just not too bad not too good. "Look look!" She exclaimed grabbing the camera she had previously spoken of. It was black and had a fancy looking lens on it. I didn't know much about cameras but I knew Delilah would've had to save every penny she's earned since she was 12 to buy that camera. "Look look, it can zoom in so much farther than my old magnifier could!" She showed me with a look I'd seen on her face before. Delilah had a passion. A passion for art and photography the only times I'd seen her look so happy was when she spoke of them. Delilah always dreamed about following her passions. She always gushed and giggled with rosy cheeks. I could never see Delilah doing a boring job like working at an office or a factory. She never stuck to one thing though, some days she wants to be a makeup artist, some days she just wants to be an artist one things for sure Delilah was artistic. Delilahs eyes would light up just from a single compliment on one of her pieces. She tries so hard to do what she loves and I admire her for that. I admire the way her whole face lights up and her freckles seem to blend with her olive colored skin when she talks about all the different art supplies she wants. Or when she gushes all night long about a new cool camera filter for her Polaroid. "It's great isn't it?!" She asked excitedly and I had no choice but to agree. "What do you wanna be when you're older, this week?" I joked and she shot me a glare "maybe.....maybe I should be a singer" she glanced at me with a questioning look. I'd never heard Delilah sing but I'm her best friend and I'd support her no matter how bad she was so with a smile I shrugged and responded like always "I'll support you until next week"

"Guess you'll just have to wait and see where I end up"
