Spring is a beautiful season for love and happiness. The day is gorgeous with the shining sun and blooming flowers. People all around excitedly talking and gossiping about the very subject of 'soul mates.'

No one can explain the science behind these red strings that connect one to their one true love. It has always been a part of human culture, existing from the very beginning, and people saw no strangeness to it. These magic-like strings are the very norm to help one find their love.

During Spring, the season of life and love, many people would become connected by their string. An intangible force pulls them together, and they have to spend a week together. During that time with another person, they slowly connect and usually form a loving relationship. That is how most, if not all, the population meet their other half.

There are some occasions of people not ending up with each other after their 'red week' because...

He sighs and stops reading the article. Dipper Pines, a 22 years-old brunette, is spending the day inside his room alone and reading random posts about the red strings. It would be a lie if he said he was not interested in them, especially when he has not connected with anyone yet. Some part of him wishes he does, while another part dreads the idea of connecting with a stranger.

He can't decide whether he likes the idea or not since he witnessed a fair share of people he knows being connected. His twin sister, Mabel Pines, was tied to Pacifica Northwest, who was the brat of the wealthy Northwest family in Gravity Falls. They were at each other's neck for the first few days before something happened, and now they're smitten with each other. Nobody can deny that the two girls can be any more of a perfect match.

His grunkle (great uncle) Stanley was connected before, but something happened, and his grunkle is a single shady businessman of the Mystery Shack. His other great uncle, twin brother of Stanley, Stanford, has never been connected with anyone despite reaching the age of 70s. Either way, Dipper does not want to end up like his great uncles. It would be nice to spend your life with someone; it's just that it would be very troublesome too.

'Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing'

Just then, his home bell rung, indicating that he has a visitor. Groaning as he get out of bed, he hurries to the door.

"Coming!" He yells across his home.

He quickly opens the door to see Mabel standing at his doorway.

"Hey bro-bro!" Mabel greets cheerfully, "It's almost my one-year anniversary with Pacifica. I need your help picking out a gift for her!"

"Hey Mabel," Dipper greets back, "You could've called me earlier; I would've gotten ready by now." He smiled, "come in before they think you're robbing me."

"Well I'm just so excited, and forgot to call you. I ran here after I woke up; I didn't even have breakfast yet." Mabel shrugged.

"That's not healthy," Dipper said as he retreats to his room to change his outfit, "but I didn't breakfast too. Let's eat at Susan's dinner first ok?"

"Sounds good," Mabel nods, "but back onto the topic, what do you think I should get her? I have so many ideas I can't decide!"

"What have you thought of?" Dipper asks as he puts on a blue coat.

"I'm thinking of a three hundred and sixty-five rose bouquet, cause you know, it stood for a year and stuff. Or a cute couple sweater. Maybe a set of cosmetics? Or should I go with a rabbit?" Mabel rambles on.

"Okay, okay," Dipper interrupts, "are you planning on just giving her gifts?"

"Don't be silly Dip. Of course, I will take her on a special date first!" Mabel giggles, "I got it all planned out except for the gift."
