As the game progressed on it inevitably lead to the hip-hop team winning, slaughtering the vocal team whilst the performance team sat to the side, watching with their eyes creased at the corners with laughter. It was safe to say once their recording was over and done with, the show had been a success. The members had allowed themselves to just relax and enjoy the moment, something which all of them had so desperately needed. Especially, Soonyoung, Mingyu and Seungcheol. What with the stress of recent events, being able to have a laugh even if it is just a variety show, was truly a blessing.
"Alright everyone, take a break and we'll head out in forty minutes." Their manager called out from the doorway of their waiting room. Several members acknowledged the comment with a slight cheer before settling down at both vanity dressers and on the couches within the waiting room.
Soonyoung slouched back on the black leather sofa and let out a soft sigh stretching out his limbs to relieve any built up tension from the constant running around they'd been doing. It had been a while since he'd allowed himself to truly let go. He and Seungkwan were considered mood makers for their group although Soonyoung had been a little slacking in that department over the past month or so. But today felt better, it felt like he was finally back to being himself, with no more secrecy weighing down on his shoulders.
"How are you holding up, hyung?" A voice from the side of Soonyoung chimed, so Soonyoung turned his gaze to focus his brown orbs on the face of Minghao beside him.
"I'm doing much better, thanks. How are you doing?" Soonyoung arched an eyebrow, remembering very clearly the more recent conversations he'd had with Minghao. The younger male's lips stretched into a light smile and he gave a slight shake of his head.
"I'm alright, no changes here." Minghao confirmed before glancing in front of them towards the vanity dressers where Wonwoo, Seokmin and Jeonghan were currently having their make-up perfected in preparation for later schedules.
Soonyoung didn't want to probe too much, knowing that Minghao was the type who liked to open up on his own terms. Though Soonyoung had noted that the younger male at least seemed to be genuinely happy and that was reassuring enough on its own.
"Hyung?" Minghao murmured, his voice quieter than usual although he kept his gaze focused forward, his eyes seemingly staring right at Wonwoo's back.
Soonyoung glanced back and forth for a few seconds before responding, "Yes? What's wrong?"
"Nothing, just..." Minghao trailed off, reaching a hand up to ruffle his hair slightly before looking back at Soonyoung. "I think I'll be ready to talk soon, if you're still willing to listen?"
Soonyoung's eyes widened a little before he broke out into a small yet genuine grin, "Of course I'd always be willing to listen, whenever you need me. Ok?" He reached out a hand to gently clasp Minghao's shoulder, giving him a light pat of assurance. Minghao seemed thankful for the gesture as he smiled fondly and nodded before his eyes caught movement in the doorway.
"Soonyoung-hyung, I think someone is waiting for you." Minghao nodded in the direction of the door before letting out a half-scoff, half-chuckle, standing up to walk over to where Chan, Seungcheol, Jun and Jihoon currently were resting, leaving Soonyoung alone.
Soonyoung looked over to the door and noticed Mingyu lurking against the door frame. The taller male's eyes focused on no one but Soonyoung and with an obvious smirk, Mingyu gave a gesture with his head to be followed - turning away and walking down the corridor.
Soonyoung couldn't help but gulp from the expression that had been on Mingyu's face, the younger's eyes glistening with obvious mischief.
