The massive explosion shot sky high and all around people were screaming and panicking as debris and fire rained down from above. Bakugo and Todoroki, who had been standing idle suddenly went on high alert as the convenience store Izumi had stepped in suddenly went up in flames.

"USAGI!" They shouted together, both filled with traumatic worry. The villain responsible came out of the smoke and shadow laughing maniacally, his hands juggling grenades.

"Boom! I just love that sound... and the people screaming... let's hear some more!" He bit the end between his teeth and tossed the next grenade across the street. Bakugo leapt up snagging it in the air and directing it upward and out of harm's way. Todoroki used his ice to zip across the street and froze the villain in his tracks. As Bakugo landed he stepped straight up the struggling villain and punched him unconscious.

"Bastard Villain! Todoroki!?" He turned to his partner running over to help pull victims out of the heap. His eyes took in the destruction, and there was a sickness in his stomach he recognized as panic. "Where is she!?"

"I don't know!" Todoroki helped the store cashier down from the rubble. I don't see her in the entry way!" Ambulances arrived along with the police and backup heroes. Panic tightened his chest as he pulled apart rubble. He caught sight of her mouth guard, lifting it up and eyeing the broken and bent metal. In a frenzy he dug deeper. He felt himself let out a breath of relief when finally pulled her free from under a large piece of granite.

"Usagi! Wake up!" Bakugo heard Todoroki shout and he rushed from his spot and helped steady Izumi. Her body was limp, and dead weight as they hefted her onto even ground and away from the debris. Shoto felt for a pulse. "She's alive... but her head's badly bleeding. Stay with us, Usagi!"

"Get this piece of shit villain out of my sight before I kill him!" Bakugo told the police jamming his accusing finger at the villain before turning his full attention back to Izumi. "Usagi, wake up! Oi! Don't die damn it!"

Izumi groaned her vision blurring as she looked up at the faces of her partners. Their smudged and dirty faces were both filled with worry and bent in close together. It was an odd sight, considering they hated being anywhere close to each other.

This whole mission had been one big headache. All three of them had joined the same agency for internships, and despite the fact she considered them both friends they worked together poorly because the two were always at odds.

"Ka...chan... Sho...to...mnnng."

"That's right, we're here," Todoroki held her upright and Bakugo yanked his top off to press against her forehead to stop the bleeding. Guilt weighed heavily on his heart. The only reason Izumi had been in that convenience store was because she'd been trying to get away from his and Bakugo's arguing. She would have been safe and unharmed had they just coincided better. "Stay with us, Usagi. I promise if you stay with us we won't fight anymore. We'll get along won't we Bakugo?"

"Yeah, we'll do everything together!" Filled with the same guilt and panic he forced a smile on his face. "Eat together, train together, start an agency together... best friends for life from now on!" His hand shook as he saw the blood pooling into the green of his shirt. He gave Todoroki a grim look.

Izumi had to smile even as she felt the world go dark. The notion that the two of them could get along was so foolish and yet sounded wonderful. She wished she could see it, wished she could imagine it.
