"It's way too late to go to a party! Especially tonight!" Mom screamed at the top of her lungs, piercing my ears. "God!" I yelled competinng with her, "I am 17 years old! Stop treating me like I'm a kid!" We paused, breathing hard after our non-stop bickering. "I said no!" She repeated. "No?" I shouted over her, "You just don't get it!" I stomped up the stairs, ran straight into my room, and slammed the door behind me. A loud BANG echoed throughout the hallways. I jumped faced down on to my blue, silky bed. Tears ran down my face, wetting the covers. Soon after, my cell phone rang, startling me. I reached my shakey arm over to grab my loud phone. Looking at the caller ID, I realized it was Lexi. She's been my best friend my entire life and I couldn't imagine life without her. I mean... she been a big part of my life. "Hey," I answered, still trying to dry my tears and clear my scratchy throat. There was nothing but complete silence between us. I wasn't in the mood to talk and I wanted Lexi to know that. "So?" she asked. I heard her growing impacient. "My mom said I can't go." I grumbled under my breath. I was so mad that my chest started to hurt, causing the air to grow heavy. "What do you mean you can't go?" Her voice was so loud that it created a ringing in my ear. I honestly couldn't hear clearly, what she said next but I am pretty sure she kept on cursing to the phone. Clearly, my bestfriend has some anger issues, she needs to fix. Quickly, I pulled the phone away from my ear and yet, I still heard the yelling. Noticing she had stopped, I put my phone up to my ear and listened attentively. "Will you?" She asked sounding unbelievably calm. "Do what?" I regretfully asked her, curious to what she would say. In a whisper she demanded, "sneak out!" Lexi has pulled me in to a lot of shit over the years and every time she gets an idea, like this one, I always end up getting grounded or in worst cases, I get banned. Now, Lexi was very persuasive but I wasn't about to give in so easy this time, I wouldn't do such a thing to my mom, my brother. They're all I have left, after dad disappeared. He left when my little brother was born and ever since then, we haven't heard from him at all. "Are you insane?" I silently asked Lexi. Suddenly there was knocking on my window. I quickly turned my head and found Lexi signaling me to let her in. I wasn't going to, but the more I ignored her the louder the knocks got. At one point I got so annoyed, I felt like throwing a book to her, just to watch her fall. Giving in to the inssesive noises, I opened the locked window and watched Lexi crawl right into my bedroom. "Yes, I am a bit insane." Lexi answered with a smirk. Me being speechless, just stared at Lexi with my "What Are You Thinking?" look. A suspicious looking smile drew across Lexi's face. She batted her eyes, giving me her "I'm serious look." That usually meant trouble was ahead. rolling my eyes at her, I walked across my room to sit on the bed. After a few minutes, of complete and utter silence I laid down with a sigh. My mom appears at the worst times... so naturally, she came barging into my room. Amazingly she didn't say one word. She only stood there staring at Lexi. Technically she wasn't supposed to be here. Honestly, I was ready for more yelling and slamming of doors, but nothing hapened. My mom mearly narrowed her eyes at me, and she turned around, without saying a word. Sighs of relief filled the room. I looked towards the window in which Lexi entered. I dozed into a day dream. After a while, Lexi started to walk towards my bedroom window, slowly trying to get my attention. I didn't move, but I watched her fierce eyes meet mine as she crossed in front of me. "So," she dragged her voice, "You coming or what?" Her playful expression said she was joking, but her tone implied that she was dead serious. I crossed my arms at her as if I was a stubborn little child, yet she still waited. I knew she wasn't going to take no for an answer so willingly, I Ieaped out of my 2 story high, window after Lexi. We both landed face up on the soft green grass, looking at the stars and the lovely full moon. At the moment I felt something different about Lexi. Her breathing grew heavy and loud. For some reason she wouldn't look at me nor would she let me see her face. Turned the other way, she signaled me to hurry up. I stood up, dusting some grass from my jacket. We both ran, trying not to get spotted by my mom, in the kitchen window. As we made our way to a trail that led us deep in the dark forest, I looked back, over my shoulder to find my little brother staring at me through the same window we had jumped out from. His sad eyes peirced my soul and made my heart break in two. Feeling my legs slow down, I came to a complete stop, and I stood there watching my little bro. A single tear fell from his face as he closed the blinds. "Hurry up!" Lexi demanded and she pulled me in her direction. Soon after, I noticed her getting antsy. "You do know where you're taking me?" I questioned, seeking for some reassurance. When she became silent, I got worried and I hulted. "Right, Lexi!" I felt my tone rise. Her stare made me nervious and her silence didn't help at all. "Sure." She murmured under her breath. My eyes widened at the thought of getting lost in that dark, scary forest. Suddenly someone grabbed me from behind, blinding me with something; it stung. The pain moved from my eyes, to the back of my head. It was excruciating, a faint feeling came over me, making me dizzy and weak. Then, there was nothing but darkness.
