Derick's POV:
"How could you two let him take her?" I asked, raising my voice at Lexi and Claire. They both looked at each other with a look that made me curious. "Well..." Lexi said nervously, "Jackson is..." Her voice was trembling. With impatence, I yelled even louder, "I don't care about Jackson!" the air grew silent. "I care about my soul mate, no one else!" Claire lowered her head. "So don't you dare talk to me about that idiotic, stupid, mutt unless you're going to tell me, where the hell he is!" The girls flinched with every word I yell at them. I know that I sounded harsh and maybe a bit dramatic but, Alison was in danger and I had to help her. "That way," Claire mumbled, pointing South towards Jackson's territory. As soon as she told me, my wolf took over and ran. Luckily, I knew I was way faster than Jackson and able to track him down. Jackson wasn't always alpha. He just got the position three years ago, when he was a salphamore in high school. I know... he's young and the same age as Alison. I however, have been protector of the north for quite some time, 6 years exact. I too was given the position my salphamore year. So, I had an advantage over him. I soon caught up with Alison's scent. She was casually walking down a trail that led to the nearby grave yard, where all the supernaturals were burried, including my parents. "Alison!" I called out and she turned around. I was so relieved when I knew she was unharmed. "Derick?" Her shocked voice echoed. Alison squinted her eyes as I ran up to her. My heart was beating faster with every step I took. "I really need to tell you something, everything." I told her. Alison looked at the trail, then back at me hesitantly. I saw the curiosity in her eyes when she slowly nodded. "Fine." She answered. I quickly grabbed her hand and took her towards the mountains, nearest to the bunker. As we were walking nothing was said until Alison complained, "Why do we have to walk this far?" I glanced behind me where Alison was walking and noticed how far I took her. "I don't but I want to put as much distance between us and the other packs as possible." Right when I finished speaking, I saw that a tree had fallen, blocking our path. "This is far enough." I told her. I felt sparks running up and down my left arm and shoulder. Alison had placed her hand on my shoulder to turn me around. The sparks, I have never heard of, but I couldn't worry about that now. All I could worry about was Alison. "Umm..." I stammered unwillingly. "Do you believe in soulmates?" Alison tilted her head and stared at me in confusion. "Of course. Who doesn't?" She answered so sure of what she just stated. Now the sparks were everywhere. "You know..." I whispered, "They say that wolves have soulmates." She raised both eyebrows looking inmpaciently. Alison scuffed, "I thought you said this was important." Clearly, she wasn't in the mood for small talk. I then, tried a different approach. "Yes, this is important and this is why:" I whispered, slowly moving closer to her. Alison took a few steps back, then somemore and somemore until she backed up into the tree behind us. I put my hand on the trunk of it, leaning closer to Alison, and staring into her blue eyes. "You, Alison," I said confidently, "Are mine." I finished and waited for her reaction. Of course she was surprised, but she leaned in closer as did I. I heard her breathing, deep and loud. We both paused, no one moved a muscle. All I heard was the sound of us breathing. I couldn't help myself. I wanted to grab her and kiss her soft lips. I was just about to do it, but she leaned in first, gripping my hair. I thought the sparks couldn't feel any better but they did, and they made my wolf go crazy. I might have growled a few times but she didn't seem to mind. Leaning against the tree, I picked up her legs and wrapped them around my waste. We stayed like that, nose to nose and the sparks kept growing and growing.
Alison's POV:
Derick's eyes pierced my own and made me tingly inside. I felt drawn to him somehow, and when he said I was his... I went crazy. His body felt hot to touch, the moonlight made his eyes look light grey, with an outline of blue. And even though we were both silent, I knew what he was thinking. My emotions grew, he was right infront of me, so I leaned in closer and closer, until our lips met. His growls were cute and so was he. Before I knew it, I was backed up against the tree with my legs around his waste. I couldn't help but run my fingers through his brown hair and lean back. I watched as he slowly unbuttoned his shirt. Derick smiled at me and I smiled back. Our lips met once again and the sparks didn't stop, but I guess... I didn't want them to... not ever. Derick must have heard something because he pulled away and put his finger over my lips, staring at me. Simultaneously, we looked behind us. The first thing I thought was: OH SHIT!
