This is the story of the amazing and awesome Flare's start at Solar Wave Technical Community College. Why am I talking about myself in the third person? I just am. Don't rain on my parade.
I was at the Tokyo Scientific Students Fair. The only place where I can actually be smart without being mocked. Yeah, I get mocked.
I'd rather not explain that.
Some people came by to see my project. The main judges.
"So what's your project about?" one asked me.
So then I went and gave them the explanation.
I wasn't even halfway through when they cut me off.
"We'd love to hear more but we really must get going." And then they left.
I was quite sad. I mean, no one seemed to ever appreciate my smarts.
"But we'd love to hear more." I looked and saw three uniformed people looking at me.
"Who are you?" I asked. Don't blame me for being an oblivious kid!
"Let's just say we're searching for talent."
And that's when I had something spark inside of me...
Hope.
They seemed really interested in my project, which made me super happy.
And when the results came, I didn't even make the top three in my division... I was actually in a league of my own but my division wasn't even counted...
But that didn't phase me one bit, because I got an even greater prize.
The ones who were searching for talent were actually from Solar Wave Tech... and I was the one person chosen to attend as an honors student(also the only one chosen to attend at all) out of EVERYONE there. So I was really happy about that.
I did some research and found honors students could have their own lab with one lab partner and be able to do multiple lab projects at once because of that. And their dorms were connected to the lab too!
And that's my story.
I was quite the dense thirteen-year old.
But I'm totally fine with that.
