Sitting in the office of Doctor Patricia Pimentel, Teegan patiently waited for the doctor to complete her check-up. "How are you doing today Teegan?" Doctor Pimentel asked.
"I'm okay." She responded with a small smile on her face.
The doctor waited for her to continue but when she saw that Teegan wouldn't, she questioned further, "So nothing exciting happened yesterday?" Teegan looked at her, her face scrunched up due to confusion. It took her a couple of seconds to piece everything together. Slowly, she looked towards the far right where two bodies occupied two seats. She looked at the one on the left whilst putting her brown hair in a loose bun, to keep it from constantly falling in her face, "You told her?"
Bea shrugged, "No, I didn't tell Doctor P...I told Tiffany who-"
Teegan's mother jumped in, who never had the opportunity of finishing her sentence either "Who told-"
Teegan interjected before either one could complete their sentences. She quickly glanced at her mother before looking back at her best friend. "You told her?!"
"Yeah." Bea sounded small as she answered.
Tee sighed "Seriously?"
"Well excuse me but you know I tell Patty everything. I mean, she is my best friend after all." Her mother spoke.
"No mom that wasn't directed to you but to my best friend over there." She pointed at Bea. "You couldn't keep it to yourself for a day?" She pinched the bridge of her nose.
"I could if I wanted to but your excitement really made me happy. I haven't seen you that happy since...since" she couldn't finish her sentence.
"Ben." Tee sighed, her shoulders sagging. " Look, we only saw each other again yesterday after a while so-" her phone beeped indicating an incoming message.
It was from an unknown number. Pretty lady? She smiled as she read the message, knowing who it was. She replied, Flynn Rider? She never got the chance to save the number because Bea kept interrogating her about her encounter with Arlo.
'Oh, I like that one. Yes, it is I, Flynn Rider.' He texted back making her laugh. The others in the room stared at her with a knowing look.
'Thought you chose to avoid me.'
'How could I avoid a beautiful girl such as yourself?' Arlo replied, causing Teegan's cheeks to brighten up with colour.
"Who are you texting?" Bea's ears perked up with curiosity.
"Who says I'm texting anyone. What if I'm watching a funny cat video?"
"Uhm, maybe because your phone beeped and you hate cats. Besides, no cat video would make you blush like that. So tell me, who are you texting?"
"And what if it was a notification?" She continued, trying to avoid answering the question and looking down to hide her face.
"If it was, you wouldn't be smiling like a maniac. Now quit avoiding my question and tell me who you're texting." Bea put her hands on her waist.
"Someone who happens to be no one." Tee stuck her tongue out like a little five-year-old as her best friend rolled her eyes.
As she pieced everything together, Bea shot her a knowing smile. "You guys exchanged numbers, didn't you?" Bea folded her arms across her chest. The fact that her best friend kept her mouth shut clearly indicated that her assumption was indeed correct. "I knew it."
"Whatever." Tee readjusted her grey crop top. The grey reminded her Arlo's eyes. His eyes reminded her of a cold, cloudy day. The clouds filled with rain, ready to pour at any moment. She loved the rainy weather. It gave her a sense of calm as she watched the clouds form and the rain pour. The sound of the rain drops hitting the roof of the house helped her forget about the world and only concentrate on that one sound. The smell of rain was far better. It brought with it promise of a better tomorrow. The thunder and lightning may scare others but not her. She loved the sound and the light. It made her realize how amazing God's creation truly was. She viewed the thunder and lightning like Gods message to the world. What that message was, she had no idea but someday she intended to find out.
