Accidents Happen

Todoroki POV:

I wake up to the sound of my alarm clock blaring on my bedside table. The feeling of my soft warm blanket draped over my body is keeping me from wanting to get up. But the sound of the alarm is really obnoxious so I lift myself out of my bed to shut it off. I walk out of my room and almost get knocked over by my twin brother and sister chasing each other around the house. "Be carful you two" I say with a small laugh keeping them steady. "Sorry Shoto" they both say giggling and snuggling into my legs. They run off to the kitchen we're my older sister probably is. I continue down the hall to the bathroom to get ready for school.

I'm tightening the tie on my uniform when I hear my name being called. I run down the stairs and hop down, skipping the last two steps.

When I push open the door, Kai and Kaine are running around the kitchen table and Fuyumi is kneeling on the floor picking up a broken plate she must have dropped.

I step in front of the twins, scooping up Kai and throwing her over my shoulder. "Put me down Shoto!" She said laugh as I bounced her up and down. I stopped when Kaine collided with my legs almost folding me. I moved Kai to my hip and grabbed Kaine with my free arm. They both clung to my side as I spun them in a circle.

I plopped them down in their chairs and kissed them on the top of their heads. "You two need to calm down and stop causing such a ruckus, goofballs" I said, walking over to Fuyumi to help her clean up the mess.

"I-I'm sorry Shoto. I-it was an accident. I-I stumbled over Kaine an-and it must ha-have slipped" she stammered, looking at the ground. I gently grabbed her hands and moved to where she had to look me in the eyes, "Hey. It's ok. It was just an accident, and accidents happen." I pull her into a tight hug trying to calm her down.

"I'll make the twins some breakfast and clean this mess up, while you go clean yourself up ok?" She nodded. I stood up and held out my hands to help her up. She grabbed them and said, "Thanks Shoto." "Of course."

After I put the batter in the waffle iron I pushed the button on the radio turning on a random top-hits station. I turned around to look at my siblings at the table, but I feel my hand being tugged by a smaller one.

"Shoto. Please dance with me" she asked, giving me her giant puppy dog eyes. "I'd love to Ice Cube" grabbing her hand and spinning her in a circle. A random upbeat song starts playing so we start jumping around like absolute nut cases. Kaine runs over to join our craziness, laughing at us.

The sound of the timer for the food rings through the kitchen, ruining our dance party. "Sit down at the table and I'll bring you your waffles" I say clicking the iron off. "YAY!! Chocolate chip my favorite! Thank you BB" Kaine exclaims when I put it in front of him, hugging my torso from his seat. "You're very welcome my little Fire Charge" I chuckle hugging him back. "Now you two eat up. I have to get to school" ruffling their hairs before I walk out of the kitchen.

I walk up the stairs to my sisters room and knock on the door. "Fuyumi? You ok?" I ask concerned, she's been in their for awhile. She opens the door with a smile on her face, "Of course Shoto, I'm just fine" but her eyes told a different story. They were red, cloudy and the skin around them looked puffy like she has been crying. I raise my eyebrows at her with a questioning look. "What? Nothing's wrong!" She says avoiding my duel-colored eyes. "Ya-huh" I roll my eyes. " I have to get to school but your gonna tell me what's wrong later" I say walking down the hall to grab my book bag from my room. "Nothings wrong!" She yells after me. I turn around, continue walking backwards and yell back, "Sure sis, I'll believe that." "Ugh! Shoto Todoroki!" She says, quietly laughing under her breath.

I grabbed my bag and double checked to be positive I had everything. I shut my door and ran down the stairs. "I'm off to school guys!" I call to the kitchen. "WAIT! I want my big brother Teddy Bear hug!" Kai yells from the kitchen. "Well you better hurry up sugar plum. I'm gonna walk out the door in three... two... o-" I'm interrupted by her jumping into my arms. She snuggled her face into my neck and squeezed as hard as she possibly could. She grabbed my face with her little 5 year old hands and kissed my forehead. "Bye Teddy Bear" she practically whispered. "Bye Ice cube" I said mimicking her volume. She bopped her nose on mine. "I love you" she said still clinging to my hip with the same hushed tone. "I love you too" I whisper setting her down to kneel in front of her.
