After finishing a long days work at the I decide that I should walk home through St James Park as it's late and since the park is always lit up it would be the safest option seems it's the 21st century and anything can happen especially on Friday nights.
Looking around my surroundings I take in all of the beautiful trees and the rays of moonlight shine through them making some of the leaves look more or less translucent, and how the flowers take on a more ghostly colour in the white light that the moon shines down on the Earth.
As I was to busy looking in awe at the nature around me which I don't see when I'm cramped in an office all day I end up not paying attention to where I'm going and I ran straight into a man standing in the middle of the footpath
"I'm so sorry sir! Are you ok?" I say in a rush.
"Oh yes I'm fine my Lady, nothing to worry about here. Are you ok? You took quite the impact there" said the man in a calm manner.
The way he spoke put me to ease as I could tell he had no ill intentions.
"Oh yes I'm fine. But may I ask why your standing alone in the middle of St James Park on a Friday night? It's awfully late and I just can't help but wonder"
After saying this the man looked at me with shock filtering across his face, but only for a moment. If you even blinked you wouldn't have had time to see. "I had a date tonight and they didn't show up so I decided to take a night stroll around the beautiful park, but at the same time it seems I have lost my pocket watch"
From the way he spoke I could tell that only a part of this was the truth so I let my gut decide that the pocket watch thing was the truth. But why would someone still carry a pocket watch around in this era? Even if it was a family heirloom wouldn't you have it kept somewhere safe so someone on the streets doesn't just steal it from you. It doesn't make sense! Finally I decided what I would do."Would you like me to help you find it? I mean it's nearly midnight and it's starting to get even colder. If you stay out in this weather you'll catch a cold"
"I couldn't ask for that young lady it would be rude for me to. You have even pointed out the reasons why!"
Oops maybe I did say that but that was to make you let me help you!
"Well that is a true point but if we work together then both of us won't end up getting sick because we'll find it faster!" I replied in a cheery voice.
"Well if you insist I guess you can help" the man says as he sighs. "It is a gold pocket watch with a pretty blue stone in the centre of it. In the dark the stone with let off a translucent blue colour so it shouldn't be to hard to find"
"Okay well let's fine it"Around ten minutes later we had searched the whole area we where in and the man approaches me again.
"I guess it's not here I'll try looking further up the path. You should start going home it's 2 minutes till midnight" the man had a concerned look across his face but I couldn't quite tell why. It didn't completely look like he was concerned for me but for a completely different reason.
"O-okay if that's what you want. It was nice meeting you mister...uh"
"Blanc Lapin"
"Ah mister Blanc Lapin. Well my name is Lilith Wellington. Hopefully we will see each other once again in a different circumstance!"
"Ah yes that would be quite lovely my dear. Now run along and be safe!" That was the last thing o heard before I turned away and walk into the blackness of the night. For some reason as I turned away the lighting dimmed and it was starting to get hard to see so I made sure to stay as close to the lights a possible so I didn't trip over, when out of the corner of my eye I see a faint blue light coming from the bushes just by the footpath. I look over to see a small pocket watch with a blue gem letting off and glow.
It was Blanc's pocket watch. I headed off but then I slowly ended up in a sprint. Before I even had the chance to call out his name he disappeared right in front of my eyes! Stepping closer to get a better idea of what happened I trip over a stick which sends knocks me off balance. As I await for the impact it never came. Slowly opening my eyes I notice that my hair and skirt was floating around me and I was no longer in St James Park. Where was I. Everywhere I looked there was the gorgeous night sky. Looking down I could see city you could say below me.While I was admiring the view I felt a heavy sensation as I stopped floating and started falling to the ground. The speed of the fall kept increasing until the ground was just meters below me. I couldn't bring myself to scream so all I did was close my eyes. I felt a sharp pain across the right side of my body and then I lost consciousness.
