Y/N P.O.V.
Weiss has managed to drag the whole team to downtown Vale, under the pretense of greeting all the new arrivals for the Vytal festival.
"The Vytal Festival! Oh, this is absolutely wonderful!" Weiss exclaims, a couple steps ahead of all of us.
"I don't think I've ever seen you smile this much, Weiss," Ruby says, "It's kinda weirding me out..."
Weiss still has that unnatural smile on her face. "How could you not smile? A festival dedicated to the cultures of the world! There will be dances! Parades! A tournament! Oh, the amount of planning and organization that goes into this event is simply breathtaking!"
"You really know how to take a good thing and make it sound boring,"Yang says, sighing loudly and crossing her arms.
"Quiet, you!" Weiss snaps.
"Weiss, the festival is about fighting the strongest opponents from across Remnant, not decorations and organization!" I tell her.
"Remind me again why we're spending our Friday afternoon visiting the stupid docks?"
Ruby quickly pinched her nose. "Ugh, they smell like fish!" Leaning over to her I mutter, "Yeah Ruby, they're docks."
"I've heard that students visiting from Vacuo will be arriving by ship today. And, as a representative of Beacon, I feel as though it is my solemn duty to welcome them to this fine kingdom!" Weiss says, proudly.
I knew it. Blake and I both say, "She wants to spy on them so she'll have the upper hand in the tournament." I put my hand up, to which Blake gives me a high five.
"You can't prove that!" Weiss says with a scoff.
" You basically just did, with that attitude," I muttered.
"Whoa." Ruby turns her head, and sees a dust shop in ruins, covered in police tape and a shattered window. "What happened here?" She asked of the detective.
"Robbery. Second Dust shop to be hit this week. This place is turning into a jungle," A detective mutters.
"That's terrible." Yang says.
"They left all the money again." A second detective addresses the first.
"Huh?"
"Yeah, just doesn't make a lick of sense. Who needs that much Dust?" The detectives begin a back and forth.
"I don't know, an army?"
"You thinking the White Fang?"
"Yeah, I'm thinking we don't get paid enough."
"Hmph! The White Fang." Weiss crosses her arms and sticks up her nose. "What an awful bunch of degenerates!"
"What's your problem?" Blake turns to face Weiss.
"My problem? I simply don't care for the criminally insane."
"The White Fang is hardly a bunch of psychopaths," Blake says, her arms crossed. "They're a collection of misguided Faunus."
"Misguided? They want to wipe Humanity off the face of the planet!"
"So then they're very misguided. Either way, it doesn't explain why they would rob a Dust shop in the middle of downtown Vale!"
"Hmm... Blake's got a point. Besides, the police never caught that Torchwick guy I ran into a few months ago... Maybe it was him."
I speak up as well. "Yeah, the White Fang don't really have a motive for this, they've laid low for a while, and it makes no sense for them to come out into the open for no reason."
