City of Angels and Demons (On Hold)

Prolog

I see a clearing up ahead and run toward it, my wings out. I hear the trampling of feet behind me. I run faster. They killed Chace; they tortured him. He was a simple human. Us, angels, are meant to protect them, not kill them.

I pass the trees and run into the clearing. The cliff is only fifty feet away. I pick up my speed and jump. My wings catch me and I fly away. I know those of the Council won't follow me right now. They have enough damage control to deal with. They will track me later. It will be hard for them to find me because of where I am headed-Los Angeles.
