I looked at the pregnancy test to see . . . NOT PREGNANT in bold black letters. I cried of relief and showed Caleb the negative test. He looked just as relieved as I did and hugged me. "Well if I'm not pregnant then what's wrong with me?" I asked looking into his pained eyes. "I don't know Shelly but we have to get you to a hospital." He said looking back at me. "What? No! I'm not going to a hospital!" I said and quickly got out of his arms. "Do you want the pain to go away or not?!" He argued back. "I- well . . ." I stuttered not wanting to meet his gaze. "Get in the car." He said grabbing my hand and leading me out of the door.
{At the hospital}
I sat in the chair holding my stomach in pain with a trash can beside me. Caleb was in the chair next to me holding my hand. "Everything will be alright Shelly." He said looking at me. "What if it's not, Caleb? I feel like I'm dying." I said to him with a tear rolling down my cheek. Caleb looked at me, with visible pain and said: "Then we'll get through it. Together." He said. "Michelle Harper?" We both whipped out heads around to see the doctor standing at the door with a clipboard. I tried standing, but I stumbled and Caleb caught me. I tried to walk on my own but I was too weak from puking everything up. The doctor saw the state I was in and brought me a wheelchair.
{In the exam room}
"Ms. Harper I'm glad you came. Are you alright?" The doctor asked grabbing a pen off of her desk and tapping it against her clipboard. I looked at Caleb too embarrassed to explain. Caleb looked at me and understood so he took over telling her everything that has happened within the last 24 hours. After he finished with a satisfied nod the doctor turned to me and asked if she could take a sample of my blood and urine. I agreed and she took a cup out of the cabinet and handed it to me. "We'll check your blood afterward Ms. Harper." I locked the door and filled the cup. I walked out to see the doctor sitting in her chair with a syringe in her hand. I handed her the cup and sat down in the chair with Caleb beside me. I squeezed his hand as the syringe dug into my skin, sucking the blood out of my veins. After she had finished and walked out, Caleb sat there nervously tapping his foot. "What's wrong?" I asked him. "What if it was a false negative?" He asked me. "Hm?" He asked digging his nails into the arm rests. " Then we're fucked." I said shrugging my shoulders.
{A couple of minutes later}
"Ms. Harper we have good news and bad news." I groaned and hung my head toward the floor. "Which would you prefer to hear first?" She asked ignoring my reaction. I look at Caleb and he nods his head. "Could we hear the good news first?" I ask lifting my head. "The good news is that your not pregnant." She says smiling at us. Caleb's worry instantly gets lifted and you can clearly see the relief. "What's the bad news?" I ask ruining Caleb's moment and the doctors. "The bad news Ms. Harper? You are having an allergic reaction to the pill you took." She said with a cold stare. "So is she going to be okay?" Caleb asks grabbing my hand. "With more pills." She chuckles and writes me a prescription for a pill to fight the pill. I chuckle thinking about it sometimes.
{At the dorm}
We got home and I plopped on my bed feeling better. Caleb did the same and smiled at me. "What?" I asked smiling. "Oh nothing . . . MRS. FINN." He laughed. "Not yet." I said smiling. "But maybe one day we'll hope it's a false negative." Caleb looked at me and smiled. I couldn't help but smile back. Damn. Contagious. We both went to sleep smiling.
Here you go! Part two! Sorry it took longer but I don't just sit on my phone all day😂 Anyway I hope that you enjoyed it and they may just get married one day.😉 *word count 728*
