Lost Identity

Ch.1: The truth

Footsteps could be heard echoing throughout the long dark halls of his father's corridors. The boy continued his way coming to a halt after seeing his father's lab door slightly open. Curiosity got the best of the child as he leaned in closer to peek.

'Is father in here? Uncle Kabuto? I hear something...should I check?'

The boy quietly pushed the door open "H...hello?" He mumbled softly

"..."

He frowned after not receiving a response. He decided to step inside and look around.

'You are to NEVER enter your father's chamber. Do I make myself clear.'

His Uncle Kabuto's warning flooded back into his mind but the boy just hushed it away and kept on looking. 'Bite me, Uncle.' The boy snickered to himself. He heard rustling in a corner and soon enough a puppy came from under a pile of blankets.

"Oh it was just a puppy...hey Pup what are you doing in a place like this? Father doesn't like anyone or anything meddling in his lab...I need to ta-" He quickly stopped talking after hearing his father and uncle approaching.

"But Lord Orochimaru...he's a clever boy...do you not think he'll catch on to us and your plan on using him?" Kabuto pressed the bridge of his glasses up "He would never. Foolish child was conceived by other foolish children." He smirked maliciously at his subordinate.

'What?...' The boy blinked in confusion.

Kabuto chuckled "Sorry Lord Orochimaru, I forgot who's parents of that boy is. That lousy Obito Uchiha an-" Orochimaru began to laugh cutting off his sentence and soon after Kabuto joined in.

The child could not believe what he had heard and soon backed up accidentally tripping over some stuff causing a loud clash. He gasped knowing that they heard him.

'Oh god...I can't hide...I...'

"Who's in there. Show yourself. Now." Kabuto finally spoke up causing the child to jump from the sudden sound. He sighed and made his way to the door his eyes remained on the floor as he exited the room.

"I'm so so-" Kabuto stepped forward "You. What have I told you about entering Lord Orochimaru's lab." He demanded in an annoyed tone. The white snake like male's eyes traveled from the child's to the small creature in his arms "What's the meaning of this, boy." He growled.

"O-oh...hah...well you see...I..." He chewed on the inside of his mouth as he looked down at the puppy whimpering at him. "...I heard sounds coming from your lab and I heard whimpers so I checked and saw this stray dog lingering around...I'm sorry...." Both males kept their glares on.

"Go to your room and don't come out until Lord Orochimaru says so." Kabuto reached forward "As for this thing..." The child fearfully backed up "Leave it be, Kabuto. We don't have time for this right now. I'll deal with him and it later. Off you are now child." Orochimaru shooed the boy away.

He sat in a dark room only lit up by candles. The child was fuming with anger after finding out the truth. Orochimaru wasn't his father and he was trying to figure out what Kabuto meant by planning on using him. The puppy noticed his distress and pawed at him. The boy smiled petting the puppy "Thank you, Tobi."

'I can't remain here any longer. Not with these creeps. I don't know what they are planning but I know it's not good.'

He sighed while grabbing a bag stuffing his clothes inside it. He had to leave and he had to leave now while he had a chance to. Those two were on their way out on a mission so he couldn't pass out this opportunity.
