Faded Memories

Chapter 1- Waking Up

Amber POV

"Open your eyes" A mysterious voice said, "Wake up,Hylian Champion". Slowly,I opened my eyes, and my vision was blurry. Seconds later,my vision became clear,and there was a dome with shiny blue lights. ' What is this place?'  I felt something drawing away from my body,causing me to shiver once the liquid was gone. I sat myself up in the empty pool,and slowly moved my eyes,examining the place I was in. The place was a large chamber with circular shapes and maze-like designs emanated a soft,orange light around its wall

I looked down at myself,and noticed that my body was partly clothed. A blue-grayish bra with a pair of blue-grayish boy shorts. I swung my legs over the edge of the pool,and eased myself out. My legs popped as my feet touched the stone ground. I eased myself up to stand,and my spine and arms crackled audibly as I straightened myself. I reached up to touch my head,short hair fell down to the lower part of my neck. I gently grabbed a lock of it,and brought it to my face

Light brown hair. I saw a small pedestal that glowed a blue light,and I walked towards it. When I reached the pedestal,there was a small,rectangular object in the middle of it. Curiously, I extend my hand to touch the object. Seconds later,the lights on the pedestal flashed,and it made a grinding sound. I jumped back,feeling scared. The inner ring of the pedestal rose up,and the rectangular object stood up as well

There was a stylized eye on its surface. The iris glowed orange above it. Underneath the eye was a simple teardrop with additional lines of orange light glowed softly along its top and bottom. "Take it" a soft male voice said. I jumped again, surprised and looked around for the man that spoke to me. "Amber, I'm not with you at the moment" the voice said sounding distant,"I'm speaking to your mind from far away"

I put both of my hands up to my ears, and covered them. The voice let out a soft laugh,"I'm communicating to you mentally. Covering your ears won't help, silly". My face felt hot from a light red blush as I lowered my hands from my ears. "I'll explain more to you soon,I promise. But for now,take that device on the pedestal. It's called the sheikah slate it will help you" the male voice said

My eyes fell back on the device - a sheikah slate,as he called it. I reached out my right hand, and picked it up. A new sound filled the cave,and I looked for its source. My eyes stopped on a wall that's in front of me

Seconds later,the wall started to rose into the stone above it. It rumbled loudly as it rose until it stopped with a loud thud. A simple arch just opened into another small chamber. I walked into the newly opened chamber slowly, looking around curiously. "I can't tell you how happy I am to see you again, Amber" the male voice said.  'See me again?' I was delighted to see a bundle of clothes draped over a pedestal in this room

I quickly ran to the pedestal,and grabbed the clothes, setting the sheikah slate on the pedestal. A blue blouse with golden trim,a white bodice, and a pair of black tight-fitting trousers. Next to the trousers was a pair of low heel shoes, and a piece of blue twine. I put the clothes on, and was pleased to find that they fit me. 'these clothes seemed a bit too proper for me,but I don't mind'

The pedestal's light changed from orange to blue, and the sheikah slate showed a glowing blue eye on its screen. The pedestal flashed briefly, and the door that was in front of me began to open. A stream of bright light shines in from the door as it opened. I looked back at the sheikah slate, and there was blue text on its smooth black screen saying "Sheikah slate confirmed"

The text disappeared seconds later. I bend down, and placed my feet into the low heel shoes. With my shoes on, and fully clothed,I grabbed the piece of blue twine and tied my hair back into a ponytail, leaving my bangs to hang down. I grabbed the sheikah slate, attached it to my hip, and walked into the now-opened doorway. I felt a stab of excitement as I saw the entrance to the cave a few feet away from me

I broke into a run,not caring about the water that soaked through my pant legs as I ran through shallow puddles. "Amber" the male voice said. I stopped running, and looked around, hoping to see the man this time. "I know that you have many questions, and I hope that those answers will come in time" the male voice said, sounding distant,"I have arranged a guide to help you. Good luck and be careful Amber..."

'A guide huh? I wonder who that is?' I kept walking until I was meet by the bright light at the cave's entrance. I lift my hand to shield my eyes from the light. As the light dim down, I found myself on top of a grassy cliff. I stared in awe as I looked at the massive land that's in front of me. The land was full of forests and plains

In the west,there were brown plateaus, and in the north,a mountain covered in snow and ice. To the northeast,a massive volcano stood with lava flowing down its side. Directly north across the field,stood a solitary castle with a central spire rising above several other spires. 'Such a beautiful castle' After a minute of staring at the breath taking view, I decided that I have no choice but to walk downhill

I stared to walk away from the cave, heading downhill. As I walked,a rabbit rushed into a bush, probably it was scared when it saw me. A low growling sound came from my stomach. I knew that means that I was hungry. Seeking to find myself some food,I started to look at the trees, hoping to find some fruit, like some apples. While searching the trees, the sound of someone chuckling startled me

I whirled around, suddenly on edge,my left hand grabbed a broken tree branch, and my mind felt like I needed to defend myself. When my eyes fell on the source of the sound,I found out that it didn't seem to be an immediate threat. On the ground in front of a small cook fire,sat an older lady in a black heavy cloak. She was a skinny lady,and looked likely to be taller than me if she was standing up,has bracelets on her arms with faint gray hair poking out of the hood

Feeling ashamed of what I came close to do, I put the branch down, and looked at the old lady
