"Oh no," Taehyung gasped in despair as he looked at the paper in his grip. His eyes were visibly shaking at how nervous he was.

"Wait-wait-" He rambled as he paced about. He was currently in the lobby of his apartment building. He was getting his mail from the overflowed box.

They were mostly filled with bills to pay that he was avoiding it with all his might. He just couldn't afford any more bills to pay atop his current ones.

He had to pay for his apartment, books next semester, light bills, gas bills, phone bills, the list goes on and on.

He had been wearing the same clothes for the past week. He had been washing them at night so they'd dry in the morning, then he'd go right back to wearing it again. He wore clothes per week.

He could barely afford to eat actual food, only convenience store snacks. He was the epitome of the broke college student. One might wonder why he hadn't asked his parents for help, but that was only because they also didn't have it. He also didn't want to worry them about how he was struggling.

He wasn't necessarily from a well-off family. The only reason he was in college was because of his scholarship. Sadly, the scholarship didn't cover his books and other necessities.

"Fuck!" He groaned as he shoved his letters into his backpack. He had to get to work quickly or else, he'd be late. If late again, he'd potentially lose his job. He couldn't afford to, though, it was the only job that worked around his busy school life.

His job was also within walking distance. How could he be so constantly late?

He ran as fast as he could towards the familiar cafe and rushed in. He greeted no one and headed for the back to change.

His manager arrives a few minutes after him, and he had to get set before she walked in. She has been lenient towards him as she understands the college life, but he knew he was making things difficult for her.

"Safe!" His co-worker, Jimin, whisper-yelled as soon as Taehyung stood next to him by the cashier.

" Boys," Mrs. Lee greeted as she walked in. She gave Taehyung a slight nod before walking to the back.

Taehyung released a relieved sigh before ringing up a customer.

"I still don't understand how you manage to be late. You literally live right down the street. I can see your apartment from here! " Jimin rambled as he made the coffee.

" Beats me too. Meanwhile, I need to find a new way to make money. I need a new job. " Taehyung replied.

It was all due to the letter he received this morning. It was from the hospital. He had received a bill from his father's treatment not long ago. His father had fallen and broken his hip.

He couldn't get more shifts because he was always late and knew his manager wouldn't give him any either way. His busy school schedule was also prohibiting him.

His life was just a fucking mess.

"Don't know how you do it," Jimin said with a bit of amusement.
