My scream was lost in the general din. I found hidden strength and jumped over the edge after her. By the time I hit the water, I knew that no one could have survived the fall.
I felt horror and grief overwhelm me, but there were still hundreds of monsters to fight. I cast one more glance at the place Nani had disappeared, and the raised my hand and charged the clump of monsters.
Memory was scarce after that- seeing monsters dissipate when I touched them with my dagger, destroying a dozen at a time. My grief turned to rage. I saw flashes of Laura and Sarah, who were leading their armies into the fight. I just remember the hatred for every single demon that I demolished. Finally, I stood on the beach, my armor rusted and soaked. I looked into the midday sun and saw a flash of Charlie, who was calling back his troops. He cast us one glance before a wave of flame engulfed the ship, monsters, Charlie and all. When it cleared, there was nothing but random pieces of weapons floating around in the water.
Laura and Sarah landed at my side, and I found one last quarry of energy- just enough to tell them. Laura turned pale, and Sarah looked as though she had been punched. I don't know how long we stood there, staring at the sun and letting anguish and misery wash all over us. The armies had disappeared- back their normal lives, I assumed. I closed my eyes, but then saw something glinting on the sand.
I walked over and picked up a diamond that caught every ray of the sun. I remembered Nani having it in her pocket, and I clutched it tightly.
"Guys?"
Sarah's gasp startled me so much that I fell into the water, but Sarah's eyes were fixed on the horizon. I followed her gaze- there was nothing abnormal... or was there?
A small dot of black was moving stealthily through the water towards us. My brain moved slowly, but a spark of recognition made me cry out. Laura had come to the same conclusion.
"NANI!" I screamed, feeling as though the midday sun was washing me with strength and energy. I dashed into the water, and as Nani swam closer, all of us pulled her in, handing her the diamond and laughing in shock.
We all started crying and talking, but Nani raised her hand urgently.
"Haraka contacted me while I was in dreamland- in other words, knocked out. She gave me some info, and I pieced it together while I swam here."
Her tone saddened me, and I looked up into her serious golden eyes. "What happened?" I asked slowly, dreading the answer.
"Haron has risen. He has a body, so when we meet Charlie again, he will not be alone." She paused. "That is not all. I know where we must go next, and how grave it is." Her golden eyes surveyed us. She told us about the next location. I felt as though someone had punched me.
I didn't question her. I trusted her judgment, but I swallowed hard as I realized what she meant.
"Boston?" I managed.

This is the last chapter! There may be another book, but I also want to ask you guys something.
This book and the first book were written when I was in 6th grade (about when I was 11 years old). Do you guys want me to rewrite it, combining these two books and a third one, or do you want me to finish writing the third book, and suffer reading through a different style? If I don't get a response, I am just going to rewrite it. But please vote!
VOTE HERE AND ONLY HERE
If I rewrite it, this book and the first book will remain up, so that you can compare the different writing styles, and potentially even some plot changes... But most likely not many.
Thank you for reading this book!
