You shot up and got quickly out of bed; today was the day you would get your first Pokémon! You quickly pulled on an outfit that you had planned from the day before. It consisted of a white cap with a pink rim and pokeball, a white vest-top with a black sleeve-less jacket and torn denim short shorts. You had black gloves with a pink rim on your hands and, on your feet, you wore two black boots with pink laces and black soles. You wore your hair in two ponytails with hair hanging loose at the front. (Just in case you can't picture it, here's what it looks like)

You quickly admired your reflection in the mirror and remembered that this is what you have wanted ever since you first watched the Pokémon League on TV when you were three

You quickly admired your reflection in the mirror and remembered that this is what you have wanted ever since you first watched the Pokémon League on TV when you were three. This year, the title of "Pokémon Master" had to be yours.

You swiftly ran downstairs into the kitchen where your mother was waiting. She handed you some toast and smiled.
"Morning (y/n)! You seem more awake than usual, it's almost as if something important is happening today?" A smirk grew on her face as you rolled your eyes playfully.
"Oh, it's nothing special" you put on a fake snobby tone "Just getting my first Pokémon today, that's all" you attempted to keep a straight face, but after a few seconds, burst out laughing.

You finished eating and grabbed your satchel - which was also pink - before embracing your mother with a hug. This is probably the last time you would get to see her in person before setting off on your journey to become the greatest Pokémon master the world has ever seen. "Don't worry, I'll be fine!" You smiled, half trying to make her feel better, half trying to make yourself. Her mouth folded into a small smile and we hugged again.
"Right, I better go now! Don't wanna be late!"
As you walked over to the door, you turned back to your mother, one last time.
"What are you waiting for? Go ahead!"
You nodded with a determined smile and left the house, not wanting to feel any more nervous than you already were.

You quickly stopped by your neighbour and friend Ash's house to see if he was awake yet. "Hi Miss Ketchum, is Ash awake yet?"
She shook her head and sighed. "Sorry (y/n), you know how much he loves his sleep" You nodded in agreement.
"Well at least let me try waking him"
"You can try"
You quickly ran into the Ketchum household and up the stairs. You went into your sleeping friends room. "Wakey, Wakey sir!" You yelled, causing the boy to jolt up.
"Who? What? When?" Ash spotted you. "What are you... WAIT WHAT TIME IS IT?"
"You over slept, now hurry up, get dressed! There's no time for breakfast or you'll make be late to pick your first Pokémon!" And with that, you left his room and went downstairs.
"Sorry to bother you like this Miss Ketchum!"
"Oh it was no problem at all!" Ash's mother smiled.
"Well I'll see you later Miss Ketchum! Please tell Ash to meet me at the Pokémon centre" And with that you left.

You stood before the doors to Professor Oak's laboratory alongside a few other of the towns' kids. Ash still hadn't arrived yet. You sighed knowing he probably didn't listen to a word of your advice.
"What's the matter (y/n)? Worried I'll be a better trainer than you?" One of the kids piped up. You looked over too see who it was. Of course, Gary Oak, the cocky brat who has a literal fan club of cheerleaders who follow him around. The only reason he's so popular is because his grandfather runs the Pokémon Laboratory here in Pallet Town. You decided to just ignore him, which gave you the exact results you wanted - a pissed off Gary.

After about a minute, the doors slid open and out stepped Professor Oak. "Hello trainers! Welcome to this facility and I hope you are all aware of the journey ahead!" We all nodded. "Now if you will all kindly step inside, I will go over the basics of each starter Pokémon that we have here today for you to choose from." You felt yourself following the Professor as you looked in awe at all the cool technology around you. Suddenly the professor stopped in a room with a small metal table. Three pokeballs rested on it. "In each of these pokeballs lies a different Pokémon. They are Squirtle - a water type, Charmander - a fire type and Bulbasaur - a plant type." He went on to explain what types are weak against others and some information about the Pokedex's you had been given. Finally, it was time to choose. The Professor called up Gary first, obviously. You watched him pick up the Pokeball labelled with Squirtle.
'Damnit Gary! I was going to pick Squirtle!" You thought, biting your lip in annoyance. You then realised there were only two Pokéballs left and 4 more trainers to claim them - counting yourself and Ash. You watched as the other two trainers claimed the last two Pokémon with a confused expression. They left.
"Uhm... Professor Oak?"
"Yes (Y/n)?"
"Well.. there aren't any Pokémon left for me" Your could feel a lump forming in your throat.
"Don't worry my dear, I have a special Pokémon in line for you!"
The Professor knew you quite well because, when you were younger, you used to actually be friends with Gary. Of course, this was before he started to be so snobby.

You followed the Professor into a slightly smaller room adjacent to the one you were in before.
"Now, the Pokémon in this ball is unlike any other." You listened in intently as he explained. "It can only be wielded by certain individuals as it's strength is unlike any other of its kind." He carefully picked up and handed you the Pokéball "I know that you are the right person to train it" A look of determination flooded your face.
"I'll do everything I can!" You took the Pokémon and examined the ball, anxious to see what was inside.
"Go ahead" the Professor smiled as you sent out your Pokémon.
"I choose you...!"
