"I..."
You started to sniffle, your past flooding back.
Milo began to hug you again. Patting your back with not too much force.
You leaned in his embrace. He flinched a little, but he got used to it. Burrowing into his chest you cried even more, not conscious as to why you're even in this position with him.
"I-I c-can't a-afford t-to-to"
"Shh, shh... Take a deep breath. Count from 1 to 10-or any number that stops you from crying."
"O-one"
"T-two"
"Th-ree"
"F-ffour"
"Ffive"
"Six"
"Seven"
"Eight"
"Nine..."
"Ten"
You were still sniffling but finally let go of the hug.
"I-I'm s-sorry for c-crying on you."
"Don't worry about me, I'm worrying about you. So are you up to telling me or maybe for another day?"
I can't hold it anymore!
"N-now"
"Ok, I'm ready when you are ready."
You took deep breaths for a few seconds.
A wooloo rolled down the hill next to you, distracting both of you for a bit.
"Silly wooloo..."
You giggled a bit at his expression.
"When I was supposed to pick my starter pokemon a decade old. I did try to choose from Grooky, Scorbunny or Sobble... "
He stared at you smiling, showing that he wants you to continue.
"But when I saw their faces, they looked terrified. It was as if they were kidnapped."
You let a tear drop to your cheek.
"I was worried, worried that they would never get to be happy with me as their trainer."
"So I decided to catch the first pokemon I will meet that makes me feel a great connection to them."
"Yet ever since I rejected, I wonder how those pokemon were doing. I never met any pokemon that my instincts approved for."
"Y/n may I intrude?"
"Y-yes, I was done telling my summarized past..."
"Well since you got that out, let me tell you my story. I met Gossifleur when I was a kid at Turffield."
"Your lucky to have a pokemon of your own then..."
"Yep, but don't fret. I'll help you find your very first pokemon."
R-really?!
"Thank you!"
You pounced on Milo leaving him under you.
Both of you were blushing madly.
People who were watching you 'WOOOOHED' in response.
OH NO! I COULDN'T CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT!
So you quickly got up and helped him out, he sure was heavy.
"S-sorry about that! Anyways Y-you may contin-nue."
Y/n you clumsy girl...
"Ehh, it's alright. I'm used to being tackled head on by rolling sheep."
You laughed for a few moments.
"B-but back to my story, Gossifleur was getting attacked by a hungry-looking Blipbug."
"So naturally, I did the right thing. To save the young bud."
"I took a few bug bites. That didn't stop me from rescuing him."
"When I got away with Gossifluer in my arms, I quickly went to my parents. Asking them to heal him in any way they can."
"You and I are both alike, concerned for these creatures."
"I'm glad you found your pokemon that way.
"When he became more aware of his surroundings, Gossifluer went into a panicking state. Hopping and running through closed windowsills.
"Woah, that must've caused a ruckus."
"Yeah, he did. My parents were mad at me, saying that if I didn't capture it or at least calm it down. They would release it into the wild."
"Can't deny that mom is like that at times too."
He gave a shocked look.
"We are the same!"
He held out a hand, you gave him a high five.
Both of you were laughing.
"So let me guess, you decided to capture Gossifleur. How did he react about it though?"
"When I tried to capture him, he looked like he was happy to be mine. He even acted joyful before and after I threw the Pokeball my father gave me a long time ago."
"That's good to know, I always have my Pokeball on me. Gotta be ready to meet the one."
"Yes, the one..."
He was looking at your face, smirking a bit.
Uhhh, why is he looking at me with that face?
When he noticed you looking tense, he scrambled and scratched the back of his head, almost tripping his hat off. Giving a screwed impression.
"Haha! Would you look at the sun it's already afternoon!"
What afternoon?
AFTERNOON?!?
NOT AGAIN I SKIPPED A WHOLE DAY AT SCHOOL!
Mum is going to kill me.
"Looks like I'm going to receive the talk again..."
"Oh... Okay... I guess we talked too much for a day."
He looked upset but shrugged it off by helping you stand up. Grinning as he grabbed your hands carefully.
He is warm and open as everyone says...
