You didn't belong here in prison. I mean, yes you conducted a heist but you were still just a small anxious baby, at least that's how you felt here. This whole thing was Mark's fault, why would he even present the option of taking a helicopter without asking you if you could fly it first, or admit that he can't. But now was not the time to point fingers, though of course that's what Mark kept doing.
You'd both been working together to escape but Mark was somehow even more useless than before, all he could manage to do was get beat up. You felt bad for him but it was ultimately his fault.
He finally managed to get himself put into solitary, an inevitable outcome. You can't say you felt that much pity for him, he was ruining your reputation, but now you were alone and vulnerable, even more than before and the cafeteria was a scary and dismal place for you.
You were eating in the cafeteria, alone again. You looked around at the others and spotted Yancy with his buddies. You knew Yancy was popular here. He looked out for his friends, (who made up most of the people here) and his friends looked out for him.
Every time you glanced at him he was looking at you. This made you incredibly nervous, was he out to get you? If so you had made a dangerous enemy. You got up from your seat to throw your food away, no longer having the stomach for it when Yancy came right up to you almost causing you to jump back. "Do I know youse?" He asked squinting, staring intently at your face.
"No..." you looked away anxiously.
"Hmm... well, how's youse like to sit with me and the gang? Youse just looks so lonely every day sitting all by youse's self."
You glanced at the table behind Yancy. It didn't look so bad. If you could gain Yancy's friendship he'd be the perfect ally but you weren't sure if this was some type of trick. But, you went with your gut. "Sure," you answered. The corners of Yancy's mouth curled up into a somewhat smile, "Youse'll fit right in! C'mon."
You followed Yancy back to his lunch table. As soon as everyone sitting there saw you with Yancy they went silent. "This is, uh, what's youse's name?" Yancy asked. "(y/n)."
The others looked you up and down as if sizing you up. "Have a seat, youse can sit beside me," Yancy made one of his friends scooch over and pulled up a chair for you right beside his. "Thanks," you said taking your seat. You felt everyone's fixed gaze burning into you. "So, (y/n), who was that guy you were with?" some guy asked you almost maliciously. "Mark? Oh, he's no one," you answered trying to conceal your anxiety.
"How come you two came in together?" he continued.
"We were part of a heist."
The prying eyes of the other prisoners turned from you and resumed their usual activities. The rest of the lunch was just casual chatter, everyone slowly started to warm up to you, especially Yancy. He was cute, but you knew that this wasn't a good time to be catching feelings for anyone.
By the time lunch ended you were considerably less worried than before and people were nicer to you. You stayed close to Yancy though, feeling safest with him, which he didn't seem to mind at all. He enjoyed having you around and listening to your jokes.
As nice as the day had been the sun was going down and it was time to go to bed. "G'night (y/n), sweet dweams n' all dat," Yancy said to you as you parted ways walking to your separate cells. "Goodnight," you called. Everyone said goodnight to each other, it was nice.
While walking to your cell you were approached by Curly, she was kind of short and thin and had long curly brown hair. "(y/n), right?" she asked. You nodded not sure whether to be intimidated or not. "Listen, Yancy really likes you, you probably know that by now, but just be careful okay? He's not all bad but.. just be careful." She really did seem concerned, but even though Yancy was handsome and cute you had no plans on getting too close to him. "Thanks," you said. She gave you a nod and you went to your separate cells for the night.

(A/N) - I hope you enjoyed this first chapter, it's really more of an introduction than a chapter since most of the other chapters will be longer. Anyways, feel free to give me constructional criticism cause I need it, and any feedback is very much appreciated. Thanks for reading, Bye bye!! :)
