Early morning around 5AM in the morning, The Shergil Mansion was silent except for a continuous typing noise. In a room on the second floor, the lights were switched on. Inside there was a guy whose eyes were stitched to the laptop. He held a cup of coffee in his left hand while typing profusely with the other.
His room was organised. Red walls and a study table to the side that had a bunch of files to be checked and signed by him. A king sized bed to the middle attached towards the wall. Then to the right side there was a bathroom too. His room was spotless and arranged.
His figure remained unchanged. The only movement was done by his hands. He was engaged in his work and did not see his door opening.
"Rakshit? You are awake? You didn't sleep last night? How many cups of coffee did you drink? Why can't you understand beta that your health is more important than any business?" Mahima Shegil - his beloved mother voiced her worry.
"Ma, I am sorry but I need to work for a good future for my sisters. My brother is helping me too. For me my family comes first." Rakshit replied trying to ease out his mother's worry.
"Rakshit, you put everyone above you. You are just like your dad."
"Who else should my handsome son be like other than his coolest dad?" This was his dad - Chetan Shergil.
Rakshit really had a very cool dad. He loved him. His dad was not only his good friend but also a wise advisor. In his student life, all his problems were solved by his dad. His mother was the sweetest one. She prayed for her family day and night.
"Bhaiyaaaaa!" Simran called onto him from the doorstep. She was half asleep and tried her best to stifle a yawn.
Just as Rakshit was going to answer Simmi, the left flap of his double door fell open and Rashi tumbled on the floor.
"Bhaiyaaa!" Rashi yawned and put in no effort to get up from the ground instead she curled up there and drifted to sleep. Seeing her Rakshit, Mahima and Chetan laughed.
Simran was too tired so she just smiled. Rakshit enquired about their presence outside his bedroom.
"Bhaiya, we kind of spent the night watching movies. On hearing the voices, we just decided to come in." Simmi said so but she soon regretted it as she knew that he doesn't like them staying up late on week days. But what could she do, she cannot lie to her dear bhaiya.
"Fine, we will talk about this in the morning. Now go to bed. I will carry Rashi over and you come with me." Rakshit said.
Rakshit carefully lifted Rashi up careful to not wake her up and walked to Rashi's room. He slowly put her to bed and covered her with the blanket. He kissed her forehead and walked to Simmi's room to ensure that she is sleeping. On seeing her sleeping figure, he smiled and quietly closed the door.
As he walked through the hallway, he also looked into Shikhar's room. He saw his brother hugging a photo frame and in his sweet dreams.
He didn't disturb anyone and went to his room to see his parents asleep. He smiled and slept on the couch nearby as he didn't want to wake them.
Around 9AM, he wakes up and get dressed on realizing that he was late. With a white shirt and black coat on top, he also wore black pants. He rushed downstairs with his files. He tried to leave the house without breakfast but Shikhar caught him red handed.
"Where is my dearest Bhaiya going without eating?" Shikhar said loud enough for everyone to hear.
"You are not going anywhere. Come here and finish this plate of kheer before going." It was his Ash chachi who spoke. Ash chachi was Shikhar's mom which makes Shikhar and Rakshit cousins but their love was more than that.
"You work too much. We should send him on a vacation Chetan Bhai." This was his beloved Ojas chachi. She was Simran's mother. Simran too was his cousin.
Rashi was born from his mother. Neither Rakshit nor any family member had any feelings of segregation among them.
"Please dont send me on holidays and all! I will eat how much ever you people give. I have so much if work at office." Rakshit said innocently to which everyone had a good laugh.
This was the happy Shergil Family.
