When I turned around, I was surprised to see a guy about my age, but probably double my height. That was all I could tell for sure in the dim light.
"We can't stay here. Follow me."
He spoke in monotone and quickly turned away. Slightly stunned, I began to follow him as he expertly weaves his way through my disordered home. He was graceful in his movement and took all the correct turns until we stood in front of the one door I never wanted found. I kept my face blank, pretending that this room could be my ruining. He threw open the door and briskly took a few steps inside then monitoring me to follow. Once I was in, he closed and locked the door. Just being in here made me want to lose my mind. I kept everything from my past life in here, but also my tech for rebellious acts. It forced me to face my downfall each time I wanted to rise up.
"How do you know about.."
"Stop talking. Be quiet. Follow me."
Who the hell does this guy think he is, bossing me around like this! I huffed and dragged my feet but still did as I was told, with the attitude of an annoyed and frustrated child. He walked across the room and pulled back my mothers favorite quilt, revealing all my tech. And my escape route. He began to grab my stuff but that's where I drew the line.
"What the hell do you think your doing? Who are you really?" I demanded in a whisper yell.
"Calm down sweetheart. You'll find out soon enough." And with that he made his way into my escape route, taking everything he wanted with him.
"Bastard." I mumbled before following him.
After about ten minutes of crawling through the tunnel, my "guide" took a turn that I knew I didn't make. I could tell we were getting deeper underground because if the dampness and cold and the weight that kept seeming to grow overtop me. Another five minutes passed and the tunnel got smaller. I began to feel suffocated and claustrophobic. Was he going to kill me soon? was I really stupid enough to follow a pretty face down into the ground so he could kill me and turn my body in for the reward? Was I that desperate?
I got so caught up in my thoughts that I didn't realize he had stopped. Not that I could see in the pitch dark anyways. I ran into him and when he struck a match, I could see the annoyance on his face.
"We are almost there. Stay quiet, don't talk, and pay attention! Understand?"
"Whatever you say."
"Don't get sarcastic with me. Just do what I say."
He snuffs out the match and after I've heard him shuffle along for a few moments, I began to cautiously follow.
