Camp Mate

Chapter two

I growl but nobody cares. The new found mates are embracing each other in a long hug.

I sigh and lift myself from the ground, brushing the dust off my jeans. I am happy for them, I really am. In such moments I just wish that I could finally meet my mate. And let him hold me like this guy holds his girl.

Soon they get escorted to a more privat place to talk and figure stuff out.

My father looks at me and I can see his hands slightly shaking. When weres shake it´s normally not a good sign. But my dad is a weird werewolf, if his hands shake he is trying to surpress his laughter. I sigh again knowing what comes next. My father starts chuckling, but soon he is full on laughing at me. I haven´t decided yet if I´m angry at him for that or if I´ll start laughing with him.

Whatever I start laughing too and then we´re laughing pretty hard. My fathers laugh booms over the whole place. He´s still the Alpha and his built and voice is both impressing. I wink at a cute boy who stopped walking staring at us. I´m quite a flirt may I say.

I´m still a virgin, because I wanted to wait for my mate. That was always clear to me. 'No sex before you find your mate', that is and was my rule since boys became interesting to me. I still made out with some guys. Mostly when I was desperate for my mate and when I felt alone and unloved.

The guy I just winked at smirks at me and starts walking again, this time towards me.

"What´s your name, beautiful?", he asks me smiling cheekily. "That you would like to know, wouldn't you?", I say mirroring his expression. He pouts and I just have to laugh," Sonny and yours?". " That you would like to know, wouldn´t you?", he mocks me, but the awnsering my question nevertheless, "Josh", he sais wrapping me in a friendly hug. There´s nothing romatic about it, I feel just like I´ll get along with him just well. I like people who are opened up and easy going.

"Would you like to follow me? You can continue this in an other place, where you guys are alone. Oh, and congratulations on finding your mate.", a girl chirps at us. "Oh no, no,n-", I say when Josh interupts me," Thanks, we´d love to". I stare at him with my eyes wide open as he grabs my hand and starts following this girl towards some buildings.

I give Josh the 'what-are-you-doing' look. He just shruggs his shoulders and chuckels. The woman leads us to a room. There stands a table in the corner with some snacks and water for us. I look around the room and notice a kingsized bed standing there. "Why the bed?", I ask while gesturing to it. Josh laughs shortly,"You know, if two people really like each other in a way mates do, then they might be sexually atracted to each other."

"Oh", I say propably with a stunned expression on my face. I think further. This bed which is standing there is used. People mated on it. "Eww", I say while scrunching up my nose in disgust.

Josh chuckles and I notice the girl fom earlier left already. "Soo", I say dragging out the o," why are you here?".

" I have to find my mate", he starts to explain," I should´ve found her long ago, but it never happend. Look, my father is an alpha and I would be next in line. But he won´t give it to me until I find my mate. Our packs luna.", he sighs ," and he wants to know for sure that she´s capable of producing children."

I raise one eyebrow looking at him," You have to get her pregnant?". He just looks at me like a lost puppy and nods.

I think NOW I'm really scared to find my mate. I never really thought about the life my mate lives. I never excpected my mate to be someone special and I still don´t. But there´s a little ' What if?' in the back of my mind. 'What if my mate doesn´t want me immediatly?'. 'What if he´s a powerful aplha?'. ' What if he´s dangerous and will hurt me?.

I know that it´s not realistic that this will happen. But who knows? I mean it would be just my luck.

Josh is lost in his thoughts and I let him be. After a while he shakes his head slightly and looks at me," What about you?".

"I just want to find love. I know I´m quite young and stuff, but still I have an intense craving for my mate. It may sound weird but it´s just like I need him. Like I need to have children with him before my time´s up.", I inhale deeply. I never told anyone about this before. It feels just like such a pull. Like there is no time left for us, or like the world needs me to have children.

Josh gives me an intense look and I don´t know what he thinks. "It´s propably just my hormones", I laugh shrugging it off.

"Yeah, I think you´re right.".

I don´t know why, but I feel slightly disappointed with his reaction. What had I hoped? That he would encourage me to do so?  A 17 year old girl, which has the urge to be a mother?

But still it´s diffrent with us werewolves. We mostly mate direct after finding our mate. Even a few hours waiting is long. And we often get pregnant at a young age. First, because the males expect us too. And second, because the animal in us wouldn´t be satisfied if we wouldn´t continue with our line.

"Should we go to search for the rooms, we´ll be staying in?", Josh asks me and I nod.

We get out of this mating room, or how you should call it and walk down the corridors. Finally I found my room and enter it after saying goodbye to Josh. I walk to the free bed in the right corner of the room. In the left corner is also a bed, which has already a bag on it.

Just as I´m about to place my bag on my bed, I see an invitation. I open it slowly.

Come to our dance tonight. Dress formal. It´s for you all to get to know each other.
