Trapped

Chapter 1

July was thrilled to have gotten to attend this school but what she did not expect was a person to come and take her away to a janitor's closet where she would be hidden for basically the first day of school.

It had happened so fast that the world was gone in a blur of loud voices and lots of shoving, pushing, and pulling. July was scared out of her mind until she realized the rumors she had heard at the beginning of the day were true. The upperclassmen would pull pranks on a handful of freshmen, no one was ever hurt just funny little tricks. But July did not see the humor in being locked in a janitors closest that kept her from her classes. 

So now she starred at the other person inside of the closest with her, they had what seemed to be a short curly bob cut of blond hair. Even in the dim lights, July could see the black-rimmed glasses and jade greens eyes. She was sure that if she saw this girl in the halls they would have gotten together just fine or at least made eye contact. 

"Hi, how's your day been?" July asked, and immediately regretted asking it. "I mean... sorry, I mean obviously the day is going downhill have you seen the room were in. It's insane like who the heck would throw two students in a janitors closest?" July asked looking for a response as she tried to fix her mistake earlier.

The girl laughed, "At least I wasn't left to my own devices, I would have gone insane by now. At least I have someone else in here with me," she said smiling in July. July smiled back and then remembers they hadn't shared their names yet, "I'm July, like the month. My parents just love July, what about you?" she said reaching out her hand. 

"I'm Kindra, like Kindra. I don't know why my parents chose it," Kindra said softly as she shook July's hand. "Well I had a friend named Kindra before, she's a rock. I don't mean that as an insult I just mean I like the name, like who would name a powerful rock a silly name. You have to think hard and long about the names for rocks, so I found Kindra an was like... yeah, I ramble when I'm stressed," July said twisting her hands. 

"That's fine, would probably be looking for some to break open the latch on the door though. I mean I don't was the hurt school property but I would very much like to get home, if you know what I mean," Kindra said smiling in July. "I do, and I would love to go home and sleep for ages."

"We can both be dragons of the dark ages and sleep for centuries and then wake up and eat all the upperclassmen so we don't have to deal with this for the rest of the year," Kindra said grabbing a broom from the wall handing it to July. "Take this and let's break out of here."
