The car ride is as eventful as it can get with an angry alpha, a worrying sister, a concerned brother and an overbearing mother who dragged her grandson along without thinking of his safety.

"You sure this is a good idea?"

"I wouldn't be here if it wasn't."

I glance at Nickolas. He is thinking the same thing I am.

"I mean we didn't even ask for his permission."

Oliver exhales roughly. He isn't fan of this alpha and neither am I.

"I don't need his permission to get my family back."

I growl, hoping Oliver will take this as a hint to keep his mouth shut for next few hours until we reach our destination. I don't want to cause any distress among us right now.

"Dad, are we there yet?"

"Few more hours kiddo."

Elias snuggles in my mom's embrace as sleep takes over him. My conquest seems to be taking its toll on my son as well. I rake my eyes over my family, only to see worry and tiredness on their faces.

My problem seems to be dragging on for long and I might have, intentionally or unintentionally, dragged all of them into it as well.

"You know what to say to him."

Words are not going to trade, fists are.

[11 HOURS EARLIER]

"You sure?"

Oliver shuffles on his feet.

"I won't pay you if I find out you're shitting me."

The caller from the other side barks something uneducated and Oliver growls. His patience is decreasing day by day.

"I will decide time and place. No. No, you don't have any say in this."

Our eyes meet and he shrugs when I ask him who the caller is.

"Fine. I'll see you in an hour."

"Who was that?"

He lets out his frustration as he throws the phone on nearby wall that poor electronic device shatters from the force and its pieces scatter on the ground.

"That asshole wants to meet us on our territory."

"That's unacceptable."

I growl.

"Don't you think I told him that?"

Oliver paces around and groans.

"I am so sick of playing catch with every asshole we meet."

He slams his fist against the drawers, making a gaping hole through the mahogany drawers. I wince, not used to seeing him this angry. I am the one who is supposed to be hothead not him or his brother.

"When is Ollie coming back?"

I try to change the topic, but he knows better than that.

"He'll be here tonight."

"What else did your contact demanded?"

"He asked for three million."

He mutters under his breath and I scoff.
