A bit overdue.  Starting at a new school in year 12 happened.  Things have settled down a bit more now- although I still have a big workload.

Please show the characters and I some love!  I love you all to bits. xxx

As soon as I closed the front door behind me, the triplets surrounded me like a pack of dogs, blocking any forms of escape.  At the same moment, they erupted.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing?”

“Seriously?”

“You had to choose him, of all people.”

“I hope there wasn’t going to be any snogging if we hadn’t intervened.”

“I’m very disappointed in you, Eleri.”

“Why, oh, why?”

“He’s an uncaring… feral!”

At that point, I couldn’t contain myself.  “He is not a feral!”  I cried out, enraged.  They knew hardly anything about Zacharias and yet they were already calling him harsh names.  I sincerely doubted they knew anything but his name and his famous label as the ‘bad boy’ of the school.  I was certain they’d never spoken to him personally yet alone heard him talk.

Three loud gasps filled the hallway before I could continue my protest.

Without hesitation, Cai launched into a rant, looking between his brothers as though gathering support.  “That’s it, she’s defending him,” he exclaimed very dramatically.  “There’s no use, we can’t stop it now.  She’s going to be running wild with all the rough kids and that’s that.”  It was just like him to blow the situation out of proportion.

I threw my hands in the air, thoroughly exasperated.  I tried to form a coherent sentence but found that I was too frustrated to string the right words together.  Instead, I expressed my emotions by growling furiously and used my sharp elbows to force my way through the three figures trying to block my way.  I had to admit I was pleased to hear a sharp intake of breath from my left as my elbow caught under Alex’s ribs.

I hung my bag on the banister at the base of the stairs, breathing in deeply to calm myself before I tackled their accusations.  “Okay.”  I turned around slowly and held my hands up to show that I wasn’t going to be satisfied with anything but their complete attention.  When Cai attempted to open his mouth, I fixed him with the deadliest glare I could muster and he closed it again slowly.  “Firstly, shut up,” I began, looking seriously at each triplet in turn.  “Secondly, what I do in my spare time is none of your business so don’t-”

Alex interjected haughtily, “It is our business.  We’re your older brothers.”

“Yes, but being my older brothers doesn’t automatically give you the right to embarrass me when I’m saying goodbye to a friend.”  I changed my wording as the triplets raised their eyebrows sceptically.  “An acquaintance, actually.  I barely know him.  I was just walking down the road with him, not snogging him or anything, so chill out.”

“Wearing that,” Oscar noted dutifully, nodding at my outfit.

I could tell what he was thinking.  This was not my typical style.
