Finally Out!

This week had to be the longest week of my life. It's meant to be the summer holidays and yet I've been stuck indoors with my dad and brother checking in on me every five minutes. Last time I was grounded, I escaped numerous times so they increased the security around the house.
It was Monday morning which means that I was finally allowed to go outside. I quickly get dressed into ripped black jeans and a white turtle neck. I grab my leather jacket with the gang name 'Dark Fire' sewed on the collar that I got when I officially became a member of my dads gang. I go to my draw at my bedside table and grab out a gun and a knife that I slip in my pockets. As my mum always use to say 'Never let you guard down therefore enemies can't hurt those who are prepared'.
God I miss mum, more than everything. If only I could go back to that day, it was my fault she wasn't here. It should have been me who was dead. She shouldn't have died.
Wiping away the stray tears that had fallen from my checks I headed down to the kitchen. I grabbed an apple from the fruit bowl before scribbling a note to my dad saying that I was going out.
Opening the front door a cold gust of wind hit me. Ahh fresh air I say in my head as I walk away from the house. The guards nod at me as I walk past them. I head straight to Ray's house as I haven't spoken to her in ages.
I knock at her door and soon she answers. I'm embraced in a warm hug
and I  explain to her why I haven't been in contact. We talk for hours and end up watching a bunch of chic flics movies.
After a while I have to leave so I give Ray a hug goodbye.
I start the five minute walk back to my house. It's dark by now but I don't care. I decide to take the alley shortcut. I hear muffled voices so being me I followed them. I placed my hand over my thigh, checking I still had my gun on me.
I grab me phone from my purse and hold it out. I press record and start to listen to what the people are saying.
' How long until we can strike boss' one of the voices says. 'Soon, Xavier Black is clever. They know we're in the area so we need to lie low. Aim for the weak, meaning his daughter. She is weak and can easily be taken down. That will break the gang apart' Now I was pissed. No one calls me weak, and I mean no one. 'Excuse me but did you just call me weak because tell me if I'm wrong but you just got caught by the enemy' I say in my most intimidating voice. 'Well if it isn't Skylar Black in the flesh' says the man as he smirks at me. 'What else would I be in, your blood' he looks at me realising I'm not scared of him. 'Run while you still can' I say and soon they are all out of my sight.
I end the recording and finish walking home.
