Grantaire knocked gently on the door and a sob echoed from the other side. Sighing, he lowered his head.

"Marius, what's wrong? " Grantaire spoke softly so the boy did not panic. It was around three in the morning. If it wasn't for Marius calling him thirteen times then Grantaire would probably be somewhere drunk.

He clutched the bottle tightly as the boy's broken  voice  spoke, " 'Taire! Cosette is leaving to college! She is leaving me!" Grantaire flinched as Marius cried again.  He shook his head as Marius opened the door. Marius's face had tear stains and a panicked look in his eyes.  He trembled slightly and Grantaire pitied him. Love. Such a desperate thing. Marius threw himself at 'Taire ,and he dropped the bottle but held Marius comforting.

"It's okay Marius. Distance can't break the both of you. Both of you are too strong for that," Grantaire stated simply. Marius looked up, not unlike a small child would glance up at his dad, before rubbing his eyes.

"Yo-you think so?" he spoke hopefully. Grantaire nodded with a small smile. Marius then relaxed and allowed Grantaire to tuck the young boy in before going to sleep peacefully.

On his way home,Grantaire purchased another bottle of wine. He carried it swiftly and took short steady swigs of it while walking on the dark sidewalk. Not many people were out at this time. The only people who were out were usually insane. The cold nipped at Grantaire's nose and Grantaire stifled a sneeze. He would definitely get sick if he didn't get home. Before he can think about anything else, his phone rang again.

Grantaire flipped the phone on, slightly annoyed.    "Yes?"

Gavroche's voice begged,  "Grantaire!! Ferre' went out somewhere ,and I can't go to sleep! What if he is hurt!?" Grantaire sighed and started making his way to where the two lived. The duo weren't related at all but Ferre' had fallen in love with the boy when he found him wandering the streets. Even though Ferre' could barely supply enough income to keep himself steady, he took in Gavroche with open arms.

"Don't worry, kiddo. I'm on my way. And don't worry about Combeferre. He's a big boy and can take care of himself. If I knew him any better,he might be somewhere drunk!" Grantaire exclaimed. Gavroche laughed into the phone.

"Silly Grantaire! That's you! " Grantaire smiled slightly but it was hallow. He took another drink before taking out the key to the small apartment and opening the door. Gavroche yelped before realizing it was Grantaire. Grantaire made sure to put the bottle away before tucking in the child and telling him a bed time story.  Gavroche fell asleep with a grin on his face. 'Taire ran his fingers through his dark curls before closing the door quietly to The sleeping child's room.   Boy he wished he could just pass out drunk somewhere. He left Gavroche and was once again wandering down the street. Dawn was starting to occur and he itched for some water colors to catch the beautiful hues that washed over the town.

Grantaire yawned again and awkwardly stumbled to the familiar cafe. It was his home. Well,Second home. Grantaire then proceeded to lay down comfortably on a table before drifting off into a dreamless slumber.

"Grantaire! Off the table! This is a Café,not a homeless shelter," Enjolras bitterly stated as he shoved the drunk off the table. Grantaire moaned as he hit the ground, hitting his head in the process.

"Apollo?" Grantiare sleepily asked with his voice still rough and tired from sleep. Enjolras frowned at the nick name.

" It's Enjolras, Grantaire. Enjolras ," he stated before walking away.  Enjolras joined Courferac at the table with all the plans. Watching quietly,Grantaire bowed his head in disgrace and humiliation.

His Apollo did not love him.

His Apollo did not want him.

His Apollo did not see him.

Grantaire bitterly swallowed his hurt pride as he staggered to a standing position. His head was pounding ,and he could already taste the metallic, cold blood enter from the back of his throat to his silent mouth.   Like a shadow, he glided to the darkest part of the Cafe an sat there. The darkness embraced him; Grantaire was pretty sure that darkness will be the only thing to embrace him. Engulf him. Overpower him. Be him.  Enjolras took a deep breath before placing his papers and laptop down. Everyone was showing up late. Was he the only one who cared about the revolution? Courferac slid coffee in Enjolras's direction.  Enjolras muttered a thank you, still annoyed at his wing man.

" Hey 'jolras. You should be easy on 'Taire. He was up all night," Courferac tried to reason.  Enjolras bitterly laughed.

" yeah, up all night drinking, Courferac. Courf'. You need to understand. We need to be ready. The stupid government is on our tails. I don't have time for a drunkard."   Couferac sighed. Enjolras was acting weirdly. He panicked over everything and got frustrated when things weren't going right. Sure, the government was on their tails but when were they not? Courferac sent a pitiful look towards R before clearing his mind and helping Enjolras.
