Chapter One (In progress)

"Aahh!" Lilac shot up form her bed with great speed. Her breathing was short and unstable, the lilac tips of her hair stuck to her pale sweaty face. She frantically looked around her, still expecting to see the three figures. Waiting to feel their hands to push her back down, but nothing came. She looked closer at her surroundings to find she was safe and sound in her bed. Taking a deep breath she slumped back in to her pillows. "It was only a dream." She wiped the sweat from her forehead.

A soft knock came from her door. "Lilac sweetheart." The door opened and her mother peaked her head in the room "Is everything alright?" She walked in and sat on the with a concerned look on her face. "I heard you scream all the way form downstairs." "Yeah, I'm fine." Lilac answered with a sigh. " Just got a nightmare, that's all." "Another one?" She clicked her tongue as she caressed Lilac's cheek. "We really need to see someone about these strange dreams of yours, they are becoming a frequent thing."

At that moment Caren's phone beeped. She took it out of her pocket and looked at the message. "It's the lab." She typed on her phone with an irritable sigh. "Apparently there is a little mix up with some chemicals." She looked at her daughter once more. " Maybe you should stay at home today, you still look a little out of it, and we both know how big your fever can get especially after these nightmares." She placed the back of her hand on Lilac's warm forehead. "And you are already heating up." "Mom, I cant skip school." Lilac said quickly, looking pleadingly at her mother. "It's going to look so bad on my attendance record, and April wanted me to help her and Casey with their Biology today."

Caren sighed as she shook her head with a small smile tugging at her lips. 'This girl.' She looked back at her daughter the smile still present on her face. "You are going to make it impossible for them to study without you, and you are already ahead as it is." She ruffled her daughter's hair playfully. "When will you learn to take care of yourself my little wonder girl."

Don't be late for school, and don't forget your lunch is in the fridge." She gave her daughter a kiss on the forehead. "I love you." She typed something on her phone as she stood up. "Oo and if you are not feeling well, just let the school call me." As she walked out of the room she put the phone to her ear. "Lucinda, I got the message." "No yeah, I am on my way ." She closed the door behind her as she continued with her phone conversation. Lilac sighed and pushed away the her covers, ready to start a new day.

After a nice quick shower she got dressed and headed down to the kitchen to quickly eat her breakfast. Her mother left a while ago, so she wasn't surprised to see a sticky note in her lunchbox when she took it out of the fridge.

Lilac smiled at the message. Her mother was such a sweet woman, even when she was really busy, she always made time for her.
She put the message in her bag, grabbed her lunch and went on her way.

The school wasn't that far from her house, it only took ten minutes before she was by the entrance of Roosevelt high. She walked through the sea of students in the courtyard and made her way in the school building.

As she got to her locker she heard a few familiar voices in their usual arguement
"Why can't I come with you guys Jones?"
"You don't have to do everything with us Irma." As Lilac heard those voices a sigh escaped her lips. 'Here they go again'
"Lilac." Lilac turned around just as her three friends made to her.

Irma placed her hands on Lilac's shoulders and shoke the blonde girl which made her head hurt. "Please tell Casey here that he and April can't always go off and do their own thing."
The boy who was standing next to April stepped closer with his arms folded over his chest. "No, you tell Irma that me and April don't need a babysitter everywhere we go?"

"Umm, what is this all about exactly?" She asked with timid confusion.
"Well Casey and April have plans tonight and don't want to invite me with."
This came to no surprise for Lilac. Irma and Casey have these little squabbles like this at least once a day. "Is it such a crime to have some alone time with just one of my friend without you tagging along."
Casey never really liked Irma and he didn't really see Lilac as a friend either, she was more like a study buddy to him than anything. He mostly just hung out with April.

"What exactly are you two going to do?" Lilac asked trying to get her headache under control again.
"Me and Casey were planing on going to the movies tonight after our study session." April answered. "Oo by the way, are we still up for up for this afternoon?"
"Yeah sure, were should we meet up?"
Lilac asked. "How about we meet up at the public Library." The red head turned to Casey. " Is that alright with you?"
"Yeah sure Red, sounds good." April smiled satisfied with his answer. Irma shook her head with confusion. "Wait a minute." She looked at the three of them. "You guys are having a study date and didn't ask me to join?" She crossed her arms over her chest. "Now I really feel like you three are up to something."
"I didn't ask you to join us because you are already good enough with all your subjects." She waved her arms in    surrender. "I didn't think you needed help." That was when she got an idea. "How about all four of us go to the movies together." She advised. When she saw the look one Casey's face she continued. " Then me and Irma can watch one movie and April and Casey can watch another one." She put her hands together. "How does that sound."
"I guess that's doable." Irma grumbled,glaring at Casey through her glasses. "Yeah sure, it's fine I guess." Casey folded his arms and glared back at the black haired girl.
"Great it's seatled then." She said with a small smile.

At that moment the bell rang through the whole school. "For now let's get to class." She started to walk with the rest of them following behind her.

April made her way next to Lilac came in to step with her. "You really need to teach me how you do that."
Lilac just looked at her red haired friend with a shy smile.
