"You still here?" Pawpaw Dave asked coming into the living room.

"Girl shutup, wassup little Dave?" he asked sizing Maniac up.

"I hope you give Black hell tonight" pawpaw said.

"What's tonight?" he asked.

I gave pawpaw a look.

"Huh?" Pawpaw asked looking around.

"That's Ari, she still be talking to me from hell.. I'll be back" he said slowly walking away.

"What's tonight?" he repeated.

"Obviously it's Thanksgiving so we're having dinner at my house" i said.

"Oh" he said.

"I didn't invite you because of all the shit that happened with me and my dad. I just want things to go smoothly tonight" i explained.

"So what are you doing today?" I asked.

"Probably get a plate from Renae house, check on Tia, and go to the trap" he said.

"Why don't you just call her mom?" I asked.

"She ain't never really acted like one. She think just 'cause I'm older now that shit is cool, nah" he said.

I nodded not wanting to go deep into the subject.

"Tell Tia i said hey" i said.

"She been asking 'bout you" he said.

"I told her ima bring her to the nail shop with me" i said.
