I wake up and feel the rays of sunshine warm my skin through the window, I stretch my arms in the air and sit up. I look in my mirror, my brown hair messy and mascara smudged on my face, dammit.

I think about last night, I can't believe Brian was so nice to me he even drove me home, I also can't believe that Sam left me. I felt my nose scrunch up with bitterness.
I decided to not think about it and got out of bed. I walked to the kitchen and made some cheerios, I checked my phone while scooping the cereal into my mouth. I realised that it's Sunday, the day that Brian's band plays another show. I remembered how roger told me to come to see him.
I suddenly got butterflies when I Imagined his baby blue eyes, I don't even know why.

I abruptly got a call that interrupted my daydream, it was sam.
The phone call-

Hey Sam

Hey Megan, listen I'm really sorry about last night, I was a douche.

Yes, you we're a major douche

Ugh I know, I'm upset with myself, I just couldn't handle how much Brian was blowing me off. It made me upset and I had to leave. I didn't want to ruin your night.

It's okay Sam, but I think you just need to talk to him more. He drove Roger and I home last night.

You went home with Roger???

nO NOT IN THAT WAY. Brian dropped me off and then dropped roger off after.

Oh, bad luck then aye a hahaha.

Oh, shut up. Hey, are you going to their performance tonight?

I have work ugh, but you're welcome to go just don't cash in on my man

Aha aha sure, Sam. Sure.

End of the phone call

okay okay, I rub my eyes and get butterflies thinking about going to the performance on my own. I mean Roger wants me there right? Or maybe he says that to everyone?? Crap.

I decide to get dressed, I have to do something with my day off work.
I get dressed in a pair of blue jeans and a yellow sweater, it's a cold day and I'm not going to see someone I know so I might as well dress casual.
I grab my wallet and step outside, I feel the cool breeze of the spring day hit my face and shivered slightly. I start to walk to my favourite park until I come to an ice cream stand. I decided that ice cream is just what I need. Even though I'm freezing, ice cream makes me happy, I order a chocolate cone and start making my way to the park.

As I'm on my way the sky's clouds part and reveal the sun, it's warm and makes my mood better.
I lick my ice cream and make it to the park. I sit down on a bench and watch the dogs playing and the kids playing with a frisbee.
I close my eyes and lay my head back and feel the sun warm my skin, peaceful.

"Megan, Meeeegggaannn"
I wake up to someone tapping my shoulder,
"UGhh" I rub my eyes
I realise that the person to wake me up is a familiar face, ugh. Too familiar.
"ah, why are you taking a nap here at 10 at night"
Roger spoke with his cheeky smile plastered on his smug face.
"Ugh I wasn't meant too, I just closed my eyes for 5 seconds and the warmth of the sun consumed me aha"
I looked at my hand, my ice cream had melted all down my arm and on my sweater, very sticky.
"and my ice cream melted.."
Roger chuckled "you're silly, but yes today was beautiful but yeah you missed half of it."
I giggled  "didn't mean too. So what are you doing at a park at 10 pm?"
"well, the gig was-"
"Holy guacamole the gig! I missed it!"
"aha that's the thing, it was cancelled. Apparently breaking your foot is enough to cancel a show."
"wait for what". I looked at Roger's foot, it was fine. It is just sitting in his converse being not broken.
"But your foot is fine?"
"No, it wasn't my foot. It was Brian's."
"Oh my god! How did that happen?"
I was legitimately intrigued, Brian seems so careful and smart. It's hard to believe that he broke his foot.
"Dropped a speaker on it"
Oof, nevermind.
"ouch, so where is everyone now?"
"well, John and Fred are staying at Brians house tonight to look after him, and I was walking home. I would stay at brains but I think the fold-out couch couldn't handle all of us"
I giggled "Well how far is home?, I mean your home, it's not my home obviously. I mean you already knew-"
Roger laughed at my awkwardness "it's a couple of kilometres down the road"
" how many"
"18"
"Whoa no way you are going to walk 18 kilometres home in the middle of the night"
He shrugged
I shook my head, that so dangerous at this time of night and like he's gonna have dead legs for the rest of the week.
"Roger my house is just down the road, I have a fold out couch. You can catch the bus in the morning"
Roger looked at my puzzled
"Are you putting the moves on me?"
I pushed his shoulder jokingly
"No Roger! Get your mind out of the gutter. Just make up your mind, I really need to get this ice cream off."
Roger looked at the ground for a moment, kicked the bark on the ground and then looked up at me
"Well, lets go home."
I rolled my eyes and stood up
"Okay, lover boy."
He chuckled.
