Y/N's POV~
The factory. The biggest factory we had ever seen, also the only factory we have actually seen. My little brother and I walked past it every day. The smell of chocolate filling our nostrils. It always smelled so remarkable.
Charlie holds my hand with a smile. I smile at his bright red face. It's winter now so it's absolutely freezing outside. Unfortunately, our only way of getting around is by walking, it's okay though, it keeps us healthy.
"Y/N?"
"Yes Charlie?"
"....I want to start handing out newspapers again," He looks forward, tightening his grip on my hand, knowing exactly what I'm about to say.
"No. You stop worrying about father and I, we will be fine. Please, Char, stay in school and get an education then you can get a job." I refuse to have my little brother work, I struggle enough as it is with a full-time job and balancing with College, even though it's homeschooled. He would be so tired and stressed if he had to do that too.
Charlie's school was small but had capable teachers. I bend down to hug him after we kiss each other's cheeks. He seemed to enjoy school. It was a great way of starting the day off, dropping my little brother off at school and then walking a couple more blocks to the candy store that I worked at.

At The Candy Store...
"Y/N, can you mop the floor in the front please?"
"Of course John."
Filling the old silver bucket full of warm water and grabbing the mop. I start to clean the already clean floor. John was so strict when it came to cleaning, twice a week everything was wiped clean with water, soap, and harsh chemicals, the other days we just wiped everything off with water. It's a very good looking place and it needs to be clean with all of the baked goods and candy here, we don't want any customers getting sick because of us.
The front door dings, indicating a customer is here. I hear John help them out as I finish cleaning the floor. My back is turned towards the customer as I wipe the floor in the corner.
"Hello sir, how may I help you?" I hear John ask politely.
"Ehee, I'm just here to drop a box of chocolates off for the store, yeah." A somewhat high pitched voice replied. His voice was unusual and so was the way he spoke, yet it was attractive in a way.
"Ahh, yes of course. I remember. Y/N, please take this box to the back, the floor looks great by the way," John takes the box from the man and comes towards me with it. I nod as I lean the mop against the wall. Taking the box, I rush out to the back of the store. It was 5:30pm, Mum should be making dinner by now and Dad will be home in about 10 minutes. The doorbell dings again just as I put my black coat on, the man must have left, I hadn't even gotten a glance of what he looked like.
I walk towards the front of the store again and pick up the bucket and mop. Bringing both of them to the back, I empty the dirty water down a drain and hang the mop to dry.
John comes over and gives me a tight bear hug. He's always been like a second father to Charlie and I.
"Goodbye John. I'll see you tomorrow afternoon," I smile at him gently as I make my way out.
"Goodbye Y/N. Stay safe."
As soon as I open up the back door and walk out, the cold evening air hits me. The air is already cold enough but with the wind it makes it twice as freezing. Good thing I've always loved winter and the cooler temperatures.
I quickly speed up and run home with a smile on my face, wanting to make it home before Dad does.
