'Storm's coming.' I grumble to myself. I turn on my heels and drag my feet down the rotting floor boards. It's a wonder they don't crumble beneath my weight. The wind moans, like a tortured soul, I pull my coat tighter around my body. As I continue down the ship, the wind grows more and more fierce. The ship rocked and the already torn sails dance with the gales.

When I reach the door of the cabin, I pause and listen. Silence. They must still be sleeping. I push open the door and slide into the small bedroom. A small candle burns at the far corner of the room, casting a faint glow into the darkness. 'Hello' calls a soft voice from below the sheets. 'Hello sweetie.' I reach out and pulled back the covers, revealing her sleepy eyes. I plant a soft kiss on her nose. She giggles a sound as sweet as honey. 'I didn't mean to wake you, darling. Go back to sleep.' I whisper. 'I can't go back to sleep now. I'm wide awake.' She smiles and bounces up off the bed and wraps her small arms around me. I return the hug and laugh. 'Okay then. Where is your father?' she looks up, her eyes like two glowing emeralds in her porcelain face. 'He's downstairs. Looking for more blankies.' She frees my waist and jumps back into bed, cuddling her scruffy teddy. 'Frankie still looks very tired' I fain concern, tweaking the bears nose. 'You stay here with him, while I get daddy.' She snuggles back into the covers and pulls her bear close.

Below deck, I find him rummaging through a set of chests. 'There is a storm coming, Felix,' he ignores me and continues to search the chest. I walk over, nudge him aside and grab two blankets from the shelf above the chest. I throw them at him and he laughs. 'Didn't you hear me?' I ask. His face falls and he nods. 'It should be hear in about twenty minutes.'
