Everton

Introduction

Everton. A small town in southern Louisiana. It's a place with a dark and extensive history, though you wouldn't know it from looking at it. The people of Everton are more than happy to put the incident behind them and pretend it never happened, it doesn't involve them. My existence is in direct opposition of that goal. Through circumstances beyond my control, our control, the 4 of us are directly linked to that grisly night 17 years ago.

Akira, Token, Jess, and myself, Wade, all had the distinct misfortune of being born November 1st 2002. The night of the Everton Evil. That night 5 people in Everton were killed by a man in a mask, typical slasher stuff. The thing is...they never caught him and he is still very much roaming free. It's common belief that one day the Everton Evil will come to kill the 4 of us.

We've lived a mostly normal life. We go to school, we eat out every other month, we have friends. Nevertheless there's always this sense of dread hanging over us. People tend to be wary and keep their distance, the people of this town take their urban legends very seriously. I suppose I should introduce the 4 of us for real before we go any further.

My name is Wade Foster, I was born to a catholic family and was raised with catholic beliefs. My father left when I was 7 and my mom does her best to support us. I wanted to get a part-time job to help out but she wouldn't allow it. "Focus on studying and getting into a good school, you can pay me back after that" she told me. She grew up in an abusive household and never had those opportunities so she does her damn best to give me what she never had. My big hobby is free running, it's the biggest thrill but I think part of it is a need for survival.

Member 2 of the Everton 4 is Akira Chisaki. His grandparents came here from Japan, not to seek a better life or anything, they just decided to do so. Both Akira and his parents have lived here all their life but they both learned Japanese and English. Akira pretended to not speak English for the first 2 years of middle school. We only found out he could speak English when he told stereotypical movie racist to go fuck himself. Akira's father is a doctor and his mother is a lawyer so he's well off in terms of money but he doesn't hesitate to play the part of an immigrant if it works to his advantage.

Member 3: Token Harris. I could make a joke about his name being Token because he's the Token black character in the horror movie but let's be real, I'm better than that. Token was born to an interracial couple and so he was mercilessly bullied. I don't think it ever really bothered him though. He was never the type to be held down by convention and during Mardi Gras can usually be seen flamboyantly dancing on one of the floats. He lives in the hood so there's a lot of conflict over his straight edge lifestyle and the neighborhood's...not that. Token took up the straight edge lifestyle after his father died of an overdose, it's one of the few things that can get to him. He's dependable, a shoulder to cry on and oh yeah, he's gay.

The 4th and final member is Jessica Grey. Her parents are from England and she deliberately puts on the English accent cause fuck you that's why. Her favorite thing to do seems to be pissing people off or as she says "taking the piss". She is the English Goth and she scares me. Someone tried to kidnap her while she was on vacation in New York City, the man turned himself into the police and begged for their protection. She's a master survivalist. She was marooned on an island for 6 months and quickly learned to survive...never in my life have I seen someone be so calm about being marooned, she just treated it like a trip to the mall.

Anyway that's us, the Everton 4 and our story is a comedy, a horror, a drama but not a romance. Romance is so overdone man. The story that follows may not be suitable for all ages, it might make you question things that you had just previously accepted. This is Everton.
