Hours had passed and Raven lay on the plush white bed, her hair flowing around her as if she had fallen, her eyes closed with no effort, her lips slightly parted as her breath fogged up the oxygen mask that lay over her nose and mouth, the one thing keeping his lips away from hers.

Damien sat by her side, cradling her hand like a mother to a sick child. His arms covered in thick white bandages, sticking to his burnt skin, his head pounded, his body ached and burned and yet, he didn't care, all he cared about was her health. After he found out that her family were away on a trip he pitied that she wouldn't have anyone by her side when she woke up...he didn't like her....right..?

The soft beating of the heart monitor soon brought him back to his senses, his memory of the fire was very vivid, all he remembered was the feeling of warmth slipping away from him. Every time he tried to think back to the incident his head got worse. Yet he continued to rack his brain, wanting to pin whatever scoundrel had done this to her. To him he sounded stupid. 'When did I think like this around her? Why and how!?'. Thoughts crossed his mind as he again drifted off into his mind once again.

Before he knew it hours had passed, what seemed to be a minute of thinking felt like hours, two to be exact, the creaking of floor boards and the loud whine of the door caused him to snap his head over, a doctor and a nurse stepped inside.

"She should be fine" the doctor sighed out, annoyed by the days work and just wanting to get home to his family. "She better be" Damien growled out in a warning tone. "Or her life won't be the only one at risk.." the doctor gave a surprised yet equally scared look. "Are you threatening me..?" He asked, instantly snapping out of his once tired state.

"No I'm patting your back and singing you a fucking lullaby.." he growled. "No matter, she should wak-" he was cut off.

"I'm up....jackass...keep it down..." she muttered and opened her eyes only to be blinded by the white light of the room. "Morning burnt bitch" he grumbled, snapping his hand away from hers.

"Oii..you can't say shit.." she said, looking at him from the corner of her eye, lightly hitting his arm.

"You two can rest here for a few hours, but you will need to leave later on" the nurse said with a smile before walking out.

Raven sighed in annoyance, obviously bored already. "Hey at least you have my boring ass" Damien said, chuckling inwardly. "Yeah...and your boring face.." Raven mumbled.

"I heard that bitch.." he glared.

Raven laughed slightly, followed by a soft cough. "So.." He mumbled, changing the subject of their previous conversation. "So.....?" She questioned. "I guess...we both like eachother.." he muttered, his cheeks adorning a cute pasted blush.

"Yeah.." Raven muttered before quickly changing the topic again. "H...hey..! We're gonna be here a while....we should rest..." she blurted out.

"Good thinking pancake.." Damien stated, sitting back in his seat and closing his eyes. "Sleep well asshole.." she muttered and fell asleep after turning to her side to face him. Damien smiled at her and lightly took holf of her hand, caressing the back of it with his thumb while they both fell asleep to the beeping of the heart monitor.....
