More Than Focus

"Your not messing with me?". I saw the disappointment in his face. And realized he was serious not like before he meant to start a life here.
"I'm sorry, cook of course I'll marry you!". He perked up and slipped the new ring on my finger.
"Always babes?". I kissed him softly
"Always, as long as I get to plan the wedding decorations?". He smiled again and shook his head.
"After the baby is born! We talked about this".
"I love you cookie". He smiled and kissed my head.
"Dont be mad baby but I have a run tomorrow. Not far not even an hour. I'll be back before your even up!".
"Cook why do I feel like you buttered me up to drop this news?". He pecked my head and stroked my hair. Before I could rebuttal I felt like I more than pissed the couch.. then the pain.. I fell to the floor and cook bolted up.
"We need to get to the hospital now cams!". He tried to grab me but i pulled him to my face.
"I swear you drag us to the ER I'll end this engagement! You cant! Call my mom and bex NOW!". He did what I said as I pulsed threw the contraction. I held in my scream and held the end of the coffee table while rocking my hips. After a while my mother and her friend who thankfully was doula. I felt all the pain but bex brought Noah to keep cook from crowding me. I needed space I felt the baby coming down i felt my body turning.
"I cant do this mom it hurts to much I need drugs!". She helped me into the shower and I puked from the pain.. she turned it on luke warm and let the water run while the tub filled up.
"Cameron Vanders, you can do this you are strong and you are a vanders. I believe in you baby". I cried and sat in the tub. After 5 painful hours it was time to push. I climbed out of the bath and gripped the counter. I pushed and pushed screaming in agony. After a while it felt like a pressure more than pain.
"I see her head one more push baby!". Cook kissed my head I gripped down and pushed as hard as I could. Finally the pressure was gone but my legs were buckling. Cook helped me down onto the cold floor and I started to cry. Cook had my head in his lap and cut the cord before my mother rinsed my baby off and put her on my bare chest she was still asleep until she felt my skin her little eyes opened and she yawned before laying her fragile head on my chest and falling back to a peaceful sleep. I bawled and look up at cook as he wiped a few tears away and kissing my head before rubbing his thumb over our babies face. I kissed him softly and looked at my little princess.
"Cassandra Cook Vanders. You are perfect. Mommy and daddy and grandma uncle Noah and aunty bex. We love you so much my sweet princess". I kissed he soft head and helped her latch.
"Your a natural dollface". Cook beamed at me and rubbed my hair my mom came up behind us both and placed a hand on each of us.
"Your a beautiful family Cameron. I'm proud of darling and you as well james. You'll make a fine father. And a wonderful addition to this family". They hugged briefly and he smiled before my mom kissed my head.
"After she eats I expect her to be held by gamgam". I laughed till the pain hit.
"Gamgam? I wont argue deal". She smiled and left the room along with bex and my mother's friend. Cook rubbed our baby girls head and beamed at me.
"Your a fucking trouper! Look at our little cassie shes perfect. Just like you". He caressed her cheek with a smile I couldnt even picture coming off of him.
"Cass cook her nickname is cass". He looked down at me and kissed my head before gently kissing the sleeping newborn in my arm.
"You want a turn daddy?". He smiled and help his hands out. He was a natural. He cradled her perfect and bounced around smiling and singing
"You are my sunshine". To her. I felt like I was dreaming but watched as he cradled our baby girl. When she was asleep again I called my mom in and she took him from cook he laid next to me in my bed and Noah and bex came and filled the empty space next to me.
"We are so happy for you both you were fucking amazing today cami". I smiled and at them both and felt exhausted. Cook pulled in the bassinet and set it up next to me. Bex kissed my head and so did my mom noah shook cooks hand and the hugged briefly before he patted my head softly. Everyone left and it was me cook and cass. Cook held me close to him and kissed my head and cheek.
"I love you cami. And I'll do everything for you and cass". I turned toward him and kissed him. Before I passed clear out. I woke to the baby crying. I sat up but cook was already up and had her in his arms.
"Shes hungry I think". I tried to sit up but my fucking body ached to hell. I felt like all my bones were gonna break. I slowly sat up and propped my pillows up. Cook waited till I held my arms up and placed her gently in my arms perfectly.
"How you feeling babes". He rubbed his eyes and laid next to me and cass who latched easily thank God.
"Like shit. Everything fucking hurts and as soon as done nursing I need a cig and some splif". He laughed and kissed my head before rubbing his thumb over cassie's small head.
"Your breastfeeding babes. You cant be having that on your system yeah?". I groaned but looked at the helpless baby I was cradling the mear hours I felt ripping her way out of my body. How I brought her life with no hospitals nothing. I smiled and kissed her head smelling her clean baby scent.
"Shes perfect isnt she?". He beamed at her then me.
"Just like her mums". He kissed me softly and cass was fast asleep. Cook got up before I could even ask and grabbed a brand new pacifier.
"On three yeah?". I smiled wider and counted with him. As soon as in pulled her off my nipple. Cook plopped the pacifier in her mouth. She sucked a few times bit relaxed.
"I got her dollface you lay back down. We can pump a few bottles so I can feed her and bit have to wake you?". I grabbed his face and kissed him softly.
"You are already the most amazing dad bring me the pump?". He nodded and left the room. I took a picture of a sleeping cass and sent it to effs.

Cals: Meet your new cousin. Cameron Vanders Cook. She expects AUNTIE EFFY! To make a visit ASAP!
I sent the text and cook came in with the pump.

Effers: She is perfect! Auntie effy will be ther next week I'll send you dates!".
I pumped 5 whole bottles before he put them in the fridge. Cook came back and handed me a cig.
"You pumped enough I called your mom and since it take longer for spliff than nicotine to leave the bloodstream you can have this". I kissed his head hard and went to the balcony. All of me ached. I sat down and enjoyed the nicotine for moment. Then I pictured cass.. I out the cig and put it back in cook's old pack.
"I don't like when you trick me". I looked over at Cassandra on more time. She was peaceful I laid down and cook wrapped his arms gently around me. I felt completely at peace.
"But you love me and your gonna quit for her. And so will I". I finally passed out again and fell into a deep sleep I never felt.
