Jungkook's POV

When I got out of V's room I let out a sigh of relief. I never thought that it would be that intense, especially when he kind of freaked out, I was thankful that I knew he was a pyromaniac. One of the many symptoms of pyromania is a relief when starting a fire.
A pyromaniac might hoard matches and lighters, burn holes in fabric, rugs, or furniture and set fire to pieces of paper or other flammable materials. They may seem obsessed with setting fires. But, pyromaniacs don't have a desire to harm anyone and they aren't looking for monetary gains from the fires they set.
I walk to my office while trembling a little I came across the nurse that brought the breakfast to V this morning. I can see that she is still a little bit shaken up but is doing a lot better now. I sat down in my leather chair and gathered all my notes from this morning, writing down things I didn't, made some hypotheses, and methods to approach and gain his attention.
As lunch break came by I see Bambam leaning against the door frame waiting for me. I stopped what I was doing and joined him in the hallway. On the way to the cafeteria, we talked about our morning and patients.
"Wow, so you have code 301295 as a patient ?! That's so scary!" He exclaimed with fright, then continued "I had to interview him once but he did utter a single word, I legit thought the rumors were true"
"What rumors?"
"Well, apparently he screamed so much when he first came here that his vocal cords broke."
"Seriously because this morning when I went to ask questions he did answer some but most of them were left blank."
Bambam was dumbfounded, "Really?! After hundreds of psychologists, YOU managed to make him speak?! What did he say?"
"He said that he prefers when we call him V more than his code, he finds doctors annoying and his favorite food is japchae."
Bambam was left stunned, he couldn't believe that the famous code 301295 finally spoke after 6 years of being in the asylum. I was proud that I managed to get some answers out of V, it means that he trusts me some kind of way even if the answers aren't really useful. I got to the busy lunch hall where the not so dangerous inmates eat on one side and the doctors on the other.
I got my food and sat at the table filled with people I haven't introduced myself yet. At first, there was an awkward silence between the coworkers and me until Bambam came to my rescue. He introduced me and everyone chatted about their morning together, the nurses were surprised that the higher-ups gave me such a difficult patient to handle and started to gossip about the other patients and their "hot" relatives.
As I got back to my workspace I stopped by the kitchen, told the cook to prepare japchae for V's dinner and that I would bring it to him. Then went back to work for a few hours. In the middle of writing a report, my thoughts drift to V's unusual white hair. They said it has been 6 years that he is in the psychiatric hospital. They don't allow the patients to have hair dyes only hair cuts here, there is only one condition that you could have permanently white hair like his.
Marie Antoinette Syndrome is a condition that comes from folklore about the French queen Marie Antoinette, whose hair supposedly turned white suddenly before her execution in 1793. This syndrome can be caused by extreme stress or emotional trauma, but it is a different case for the elderly because as you grow older, you may start to lose the melanin pigments that are responsible for your hair color.
I think it is too soon for V to open up this much about his hard past, I will have to work on finding a way to gain his trust little by little. Maybe bringing him his favorite dish for dinner will make him trust me a little more. I will take the chance to make him talk a little if he is willing of course.
When it was time for me to bring his dinner, which was around 6:30 pm, I took deep breaths before going down the elevator. The security guard pounded loudly on the metal door to make the patient inside aware that there was a person coming in. As I entered I saw that he was surprised to see me and not a nurse.
A small smile could be distinguished on his face when he saw the food on the tray. Sadly he covered it right away, turning back to the expressionless face. I set it in front of him and sat on the chair on the opposite side of the table with a small smile. I was happy, it made him content that I brought him his favorite.
"Each time you answer some questions, verbally or not, I will ask the kitchen to make you your japchae or any food you request. Think of it as a reward for cooperating." I said while watching him savor each bite, I chuckled a little at how cute he was trying to eat it as slow as possible so that the flavor could last the longest. "But don't worry I won't tell them to send anything disgusting if you get angry or aggressive." He nodded to respond.
Later that night at my apartment, in bed, I thought back to when V was smiling. It was one of those smiles rarely seen on anyone unless they are truly happy. Slowly I drifted into the dreamland with that smile in my head and I couldn't wait to go to work tomorrow.
